Hollow Tool (Terrain wheel)- The hollow tool would allow you to hollow out sections of hill's, mountain's and other various landforms. This would allow you to create tunnels and caves.

Lights that actually work!

Snow Textures and roads. I love that the map editor gives us so many textures and terrains but it lacks a very important one, snow.

Asphalt and Concrete roads. (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE!)

[PS3]
1.caves thing said enough times and water on multiple levels.
2.more than 4 textures per map.
3.ability to create addition and subtraction brushes that can be saved in packages. This is probably the easiest way to make bits of buildings. Texturing obviously goes with this suggestion too.
4. for the performance bar: the little bar thing shouldn't just move around. If performance with more than just you on the level will be crippled, it should be crippled in the editor too, so you can make adjustments until its playable.
apart from these things though, editor is awesome!

THis is probably a long shot, but more than one playable area. If i make a huge map for CTD or uprising, I can have a smaller playable zone based around the village of that map for DM, but people can`t leg it off to the edge of the map, keeping the DM concentrated and fast. Then my team deathmatch could take in a bigger area, but are still restricted by the zone. The third zone would encompass CTD and Uprising.

Also, spawn points divided up more, to incorparate CTD and Uprising instead of them, now, being the same as team deathmatch. This way you could enable each mode to be directed differently across the map the way you design it.

With these two additions you could get far more directional flow for the different game modes, but still use the same map and only taking up one of the ten map slots we have assigned to each of us.

I like a lot of the ideas already posted, but it'd be nice if they could fix up the water a little bit. I'm fine with it being as murky and dark as it is, even though maps with underwater entrances is pretty much impossible now, but you can still make muddy water look nice. Far Cry 1 had beautiful water, so why has it become so terrible? Instead of the tiny little ripples one the water why not have the waves like the first Far Cry? Then, please fix the reflection. When I'm in the water and I see a wall or object placed in the water, at the water level it looks like there's sky behind. It almost makes it look like the object is floating an inch off the water surface. Then, fences and other objects don't even reflect in the water. Frown

Also, please get rid of those annoying built-in occlusion blocks in certain fence pieces and objects, as well as the invisible barriers that extend past the surface of certain objects.

(XBox 360)

1. ability to rotate objects at 45 degrees at a time & raise/lower objects @ specific heights (a la Instincts)
2. The devs did a fantastic job with the single player experience. We don't want to recreate it, we want to create unique maps. You can charge us for DLC. Release object packs on Live Marketplace and we will buy it. I can't imagine you're already working on a new engine, so use this one and make some more loot off this one. You already know people are making maps that have nothing to do w/ African themes. Its the simple law of supply and demand. Its obvious from the previously posted requests that the demand is there. Here's some of my biggest requests:
3. telephone lines w/out poles, clear water, running water, more detail objects (larger paintings, larger windows w/out panes, etc), ladders that can be rotated ALL the way, ability to choose your MP character's looks (we don't want to constantly be locked in an African conflict), variety of walls and roofs, ZIP LINES (where'd they go???), please remove the speed governors from the vehicles, placeable smoke/mist/fog, if not a tunneling tool then how about several diff types of hollow mountains/hills we can build inside of, links of chains, jet ski's & ATV's (where'd they go???), if we're going to be pidgeonholed in an African theme where are the Arabic styled buildings and detail objects?? Egypt is still in Africa since the last time I hung out with Rand McNally, I love the idea of creating objects and saving them in a library of sorts (a la Forza 2), I'm sure I will think of more objects later.
4. The biggest complaint I have is the invisible bottom on certain objects. In order to make a solid object it takes 2x the points, takes 2x as long, and creates a "shimmer" effect.
5. When selecting objects, make them glow that odd green they use on green screens so its more obvious when something has been selected. When using the 'select multiple objects @ once' tool certain objects don't get selected and when you clone the selected group it gets left out.
6. Blank signs. Letters that snap to the signs so we can make our own signs/billboards.
7. We love the flock of birds...why not blowing leaves or newspapers
8. Asphalt roads.
9. Fountains that spout water
10. Remember you gave us the editor to unleash our creativity. Don't limit that creativity because of a lack of follow up support on your part. My clan and I purchased FC Instincts, FCIP, FCIPE mainly because of the editor. We love the single player, but your ability to do what the other games couldn't pull off (map editing done right) is what we use the most.

1. Ability to group objects together.

2. Ability to toggle on/off, snap to object and unsnap to object. eg. for fences.

3. Some kind of grid functionality.

4. Ability to manually input object angle eg 90˚, for greater accuracy.

5. As mentioned above, the ability to create caves etc, that would be insane.

6. Also as mentioned above, some objects are transparent from underneath.

Cheers.

Heres my wish list - some of which has already been mentioned.

1)Please, PLEASE allow me to define which keys "nudge" objects and which ones move camera...I'm a lefty - WSAD sucks for me!

If anything, give us ONE option - to swap WSAD for arrows and I'll be happy Big Grin

2) Ok, on to the next thing..I know there are a TON more objects in the game than what's available in the editor. I can't complain about what we've been given, but if possible, please give us some more because when you're working with specific "themes", one is quick to find that specific objects for "themes" are limited - though I know I've seen them in the game.

3) Next, MORE TEXTURE SLOTS!! Im sooooooo surprised that we've been limited to 4. FOUR TEXTURES??!! What the heck? Try designing a realistic waterway with cliffs once - you can use all 4 slots just for the detail, leaving nothing for the rest of the map. Please - increase to 8, at the least.

4) Environmental control - I can't even change the fog colors or levels. Would be nice - otherwise we're gonna have a LOT of maps that seem pretty much the same.

5) Vegetation - I would really like to see more options. Allow us to mix and match to create custom sets and give us more vegitation slots in the editor, please.

6)Please allow a few more vehicles and explosives - at least limit the number per the size of the map. 6 vehicles really isnt enough when using the entire area of a large map, nor is it logical to have such small limits on explosives in a large map (I've seen more explosives in one small area of the SP mission than we're allowed in an entire map!)

All in all, the editor is pretty nice. I just feel that it's been "dumbed down" to allow novice mappers jump in and start creating content. While that's a great thing, I personally feel that it's really limiting us experienced/hardcore mappers who are used to great flexibility in editing for this game title. Perhaps you can implement an "advanced editing" mode that adds more of the uncommon requests. Theres so much potential for this game engine - don't hold us back!

Hi heres my list/wishes for the editor. some of them might have been mentioned before.

1. Smoke/Fog.
I think that Fog/Smoke can set a nice scene to the battlezone.

I think that the Smoke and Fog should be 2 different tools, more because i think that smoke and fog emittes in different ways, smoke got more like its from a "start point/heat source" and then it raises and reacts to the wind, where fog gathers more near Water surfaces/Ground level, Weet, Swampy environments, canyons/holes, or after rain, and it allmost allways stays in the same level, if there isnt any wind ofcause.

The Fog tool would be nice if it worked like the road tool, where your able to draw a line, or as a single object like the one with birds, just with some extra proberties like radius, hight, density/transparency and such.

The Smoke tool should more be like a small transparent ball/cube where it emittes the moke particles from, so it got that "Start Point", and ofcause also some of those proberties where you can set the radius, density/transparency, and speed of the smoke source, and smoke lifetime, and ofcause also the color of the smoke.

2. Oil.
I can see that in the original MP maps that theres Oil slicks on the road thats able to catch fire.
i cant understand why that isnt available in the editor, acually i cant understand why alot is keept away/out from it, but thats one of the main things that pops up in my mind alot. I think that they are very usefull for those who wants to make road/pathways available for access in a strategic way. I dont know how it works for the developers, but i think it would be nice if it also worked like the road tool so it follows the terrain, and ofcause the radius of it.

3. Object on Fire.
I named this Objects on Fire because theres more then one or 2 things.
As i mentioned in 2. Oil, i cant understand why they left these parts out. like the tires piles theres burning, or the car/bus, and proberly also alot og other stuff....
I think that to make it more easy for the single user, he should be able to have some proberties/options on some of the objects, for exsample the tire piles, that would be nice if there was some way so you could turn fire on/off on it, and i could keep mentioning things that could have this options on it. my point is that i think its a importen thing to have in the editor.

4. Resize/Modify Objects.
I think it would be nice to be able to resize some of the objects, i know that some of the objects would look bad when they get resized, like doorways, windows and such. but on the terrain objects it would be ok, like rocks and other organic things.

5. Create Objects.
i also think that being able to create your own objects would be a nice touch to the editor, kinda like how Second Life works, and also such as be able to upload/import your own textures to the editor.

6. Water Falls/River Flow.
A River tool would be nice, and again, if it worked like the road tool. just where the path you make is the way the water current/flow is running, ofcause also after the terrain. so if you make a path theres going out and over a cliff, it would make a waterfall.

Final words
well i think i could keep going on things that i think that would be cool, one thing i think you should do in the next editor update is to unlock/enable/activate all those objects theres missing from the SP-Game/Original MP maps. that would be a very good start, it woulden require much i think.
but as for some of those i mentioned above would be cool to have in future updates.

anyways... thats what i had on my mind so far..
i may update the post later on, but for now i stick with this.

Regards
NemisizZ

All users should get a singleplayer Map Maker so that we can make our own singleplayer missions, so theses should include A.I, animals, larger map sizes etc. You could even include some sort of building/texture creator.

For PS3/360

When looking around the single player game and also some of the Ubisoft maps there are a lot of items used which are not included in the editor we have.

Give us that stuff as it's already made - the small detailed stuff I am talking about.

Containers - with previous console games the containers were one of the most used pieces in the editor, the current containers are huge. Maybe some smaller sized ones and some that are open at both ends or at one end and in the middle.

Blank Slabs, we need solid blank slabs that can be used to better effect for ceilings and floors. Too many pieces are either hollow or have bits stickink off or broken off them. We need some higher walls for those creating large enclosed areas.

More posters and pictures and stuff that can be hung on walls or placed on pieces.

I love the cardboard boxes, the chairs that break and other various breakables - more stuff like that.

Trees/Plants - a few more choices, The palm Trees are nice but only 2 shapes of them, more trees and plants would be nice although the current selection is excellent.

How about creating a whole new brush set the previous Ruins Set was extremely popular on the older far cry games, How about a modern up to date version of a set like that?

The hollow see-through brushes should be no more with any future goodies, we need solid pieces.

I would also like to see more cars and stuff as Non Driveable Vehicles, some more not just burned out ones.

The editor we have is amazing but you can never get enough stuff more is always better.

360 user...

Please give us an update feature for us to download the latest version of our favorite user created published maps..

This would allow us to update and improve our favorite published maps while keeping the NAMES the same ,and NOT making everybody delete old versions from there hardrive..

I constantly improve my maps...But use the UBISOFT server to allow people to be able to download my maps faster..

This requires me to have to delete, upload and publish my latest version of my maps..

NO big deal on my end,But people complain sometimes about having to delete my old version..
I can't help it if I want my maps the best they can be Cool
