I never got the collectors edition of Myst III exile, but i have started looking for it lately. Thus far it seems there are several different collectors editions. the first is the one with the Squee toy. The other version is with a "making of booklet!" Now i was wondering if it was the same with Uru and revelation. What did your collectors box include? Lets get a overview of the difference in the collectors editions in the myst series.

I’ll start I got a gold edition UrU. I know this has been much debated as being fake and none existing. But here it is: its just “complete chronicles” in a black cardboard box that looks like This

Mabye your collectors edition is even more of a collectable then you thought.

whats in your myst collectors edition?

To the best of my knowledge only one collector's edition of Exile was ever made, and there were something like 86,000 of them, each numbered individually, so it really was a limited collector's edition in the true sense, not just a more expensive box with a couple more goodies Wink.

Anyway, the Exile CE contains a pewter squee, the Prima hint guide (which has a background information chapter written with Mary DeMarle), a disc with the Making of Exile movie, the soundtrack, and the game itself. Originally the box was supposed to include a plush squee toy and an actual copy of Atrus' journal, but these two items were dropped because of manufacturing costs and Atrus' journal was added to the back of the Prima Guide (with a few bonus gramatical errors) instead.

I never got the Uru CE, so I won't even attempt to speak as to what it contains and whether there were different versions of it.

The Revelation CE (which is different from the Revelation "Limited Edition" containing a copy of Exile on DVD) has a deck of 32 playing cards, a CD with some Making of Revelation content and a few tracks from the soundtrack in mp3 format, and the game itself with the European box cover.

There is also a Riven CE which has a different box signed by the whole Cyan team at the time of Riven's completion, but I think that has officially acheived "ultra-rare" status.

I once lent a package named "Myst Trilogy" from the local library, which contained Myst, Riven, and Exile, of course, and the "Making of Exile" booklet. So far, I only own the Uru CE, which contains the game in English, French, and German, a bonus disc with a making-of video and four tracks of the soundtrack, and a short diary-like strategy guide by Bryan Stratton. Yesterday, I bought a Revelation CE on eBay - it will contain a card game and a bonus disk with about half an hour of soundtrack music and another making-of video.

Here's a pic of the Uru CE:

I also bought an Exile CE off Ebay - a UK/Europe edition that does not have the pewter squee but does have the small "Making of" booklet - if one can call a piece of folded A4 paper printed double-sided a booklet.

So like Lars, I assumed that there were different CEs for the different markets.

I didn't buy the URU CE, but took up a special offer from Ubisoft Europe that included Uru ABM in a box with a pocket strategy guide (cleft only) and a CD-ROM with "Making of" and some MP3s from the soundtrack and included PoTS in a separate DVD case.

@ cathyk: What's the name of the Uru edition you own? Looks like it contains exactly the same as mine... which definitely is the CE. Confused

Oops It is the Uru CE - I was at work when I wrote that reply and so couldn't check and I was bit confused by your photo - I didn't recognise the single sheet guide.

Also Alahmnat wrote:

Now I've been looking at my CE's to try and locate the numbering - especially the Exile CE. The only thing I can find is on the bar code. Above the bar code is written the name of the game and a number (which is different to the bar code number itself which is written underneath the bar code).

So my Exile CE has:

Myst III Exile Collector UK
2214311

Uru CE has:

Uru: Ages Beyond Myst CD-ROM PC
2202526

Revelation CE has:

Myst IV Revelation Collector
0814039

My copy of Riven is not a CE and has nothing above the barcode. My copy of Myst is the Limited edition and above the barcode has an ISBN number and "FBB7036E".

So it looks like there were two different CEs for Exile - the 86,000 release that included the pewter squee and the UK release which didn't.

I seem to be incorrect as to a couple of things... first, there were actually only 70,500 copies of the Exile CE printed, not 86,000... not sure where I got that number from, but I felt compelled to check my box to see. I have number 08240, btw Smile.

I also forgot that the game wasn't released internationally for some six months after it was released in North America because Ubi had *just* taken over on the scene a month prior to release and decided to re-tool the localization to include about 6 more languages than the original set of French, German, and Spanish chartered by Mattel. My guess then would be that the CE that arrived in Europe was different from the North American CE, I just never saw it (for obvious reasons... I don't live in Europe Wink).

That explains the different editions - would have liked the pewter squee though Sad

My Revelation CE was delivered today. Smile I'm slightly disappointed of the card game, but that's not what I bought it for - I wanted the game and some more tracks of Jack Wall's fantastic soundtrack. Smile I guess the next thing to do is figuring out how Revelator works. Wink2

Today, I also received the Uru soundtrack I had ordered at an online store. Smile It's great, but it can't beat the Exile score. Wink2

Tracks the CE contains:

Main Theme
Finding Yeesha
Serenia
The Prison Cell
Predator
Sirrus
Bomb Factory
Predator Revisited
Welcome

"Welcome" is almost the same as "Haven" which can be downloaded from various Myst IV sites across the web.
Apparently only the Main Theme and "Predator" appear on the full soundtrack as well. However, I have no idea if some of the tracks have been renamed for the full soundtrack - some of the tracks have very similar names (CE: "The Prison Cell" - soundtrack: "Prison Level"). Maybe somebody with both the CE and the soundtrack CD can help?

Last fall a few Canadians purchased the Collectors Edition of MYST IV - Revelation. We arranged to ship them to our American forum buddies. It worked very well...except...

One forum "buddy" pooped out on us and I still have an unopened Collector's Edition already boxed up and ready for mailing.

If anyone is interested in purchasing it...let me know and we'll somehow arrange something.

I paid $69.99 CDN...plus 15% sales taxes.

If I remember correctly...it came out to $75.00 CDN...plus about $7 CDN for shipping (to anywhere in the U.S.).

Hi JEB...

I did ship to 2 Canadians who were unable to get the Collector's Edition in their area (NFLD and..??).

In Canada...it depends on where in Canada you are. If you are serious aboout getting it...let me know what city/prov you live in...and...I'll go to the post office and find out how much the shipping is.

Let me know. (BTW...I am living in London Ontario)

I live about two hours from you in Leamington...

I don't have the money handy at the moment - it'll have to depend on the weather and work (Southwestern Ontario has been a bit... um... hot for construction lately.) - And how much the total comes out to.
