I'm in the jungle on Haven and I swear I can hear the horn coming from the linking chamber, but when I made my way back there was noone there.

There will be no one there. Achenar has escaped, as you can see by the condition of the "visitor's room." You are alone with the animals on Haven.

I think it's the Mangree playing with the signal horn.

I always thought that it had something to do with the background music.

I heard it too and thought maybe I was nuts. Glad to see I'm not.

The composer Jack Wall has incorporated quite a few instrumental equivalents to sounds that are also part of the game. I noticed others on Haven that I won't mention yet for fear of spoilers.
