That's quite a project you've completed!
I haven't read the entire walkthrough, because I haven't finished the game and I'm trying to avoid overt spoilers. In general though, I must ask whether it is your intention to discuss only the details that are necessary in order to proceed in the gameplay? In Tomahna and Haven (I'm almost done there) there are several omissions I noticed. I won't spoil them for you, in case you have some discoveries in the game left yourself. Here is some feedback on what you have mentioned: Tomahna - You cannot simply pull the lever and jump into the elevator: you have to wait for the pulsing light in the symbol below the lever. If you try pulling the lever when the light is fading or faded, it won't open the elevator doors (this may sound too simplistic, but I missed it the first time). - The left fork in the path (after seeing Yeesha's lizard) does not literally dead end in the bedroom. You can go beyond the bedroom and down to the elevator platform. It isn't until you reach that platform that you realize that it is currently a dead end, that you cannot reach the other side of the building complex. - You (the player) don't know that the first arboretum is "Yeesha's flute playing area" unless you returned there before you restored the power. Your walkthrough does not mention doing so. |

Thanks realXCV - I didn't expect to get feedback this good! Will fix the errors you noted (and will have to go back and do the start again - I was sure Yeesha and I just sat there with not much to click until I took a photo...). As for Haven - do you know what triggers a reset of the second mangree puzzle?? I know I did reset it once and I thought going back to Achenar's hut was what did it..... anyone know?? cheers Shell |

Great points, LynComeLately! sometimes you get too buried in the game to realise what you are writing requires prior knowledge - I'll get those bits fixed up. Would love any further comments from you once you have finished the game! It's my favourite of the Myst series - I hope you enjoy it! My original aim was just to get the gameplay covered - as you noted, that was a fairly big project in itself but now that's done, I'd like to inject more of the story line and all those extra details that gave the Revelation ages such ambience. cheers Shell |

Nothing. The camoudile can go to the ladder if you try when he's with the mangrees but the mangrees themselves don't move. |
||||
|
So . . . let us know when you think you have it all covered - maybe age by age? - and one of us will tell you what you myst, uh . . . missed. Watch out for Tomahna. There's a lot going on both before and after the explosion that can be discovered before it's *needed*. |

Thanks guys! I've made most of your suggested changes.
realxcv - I made Yeesha wait and she did drive on without me having to take a photo - this points to how impatient I am - I didn't actually have to wait very long! Whilst I still need to review my solution to the second mangree puzzle, I did confirm the 'reset' via the Universal Hint System website:
I tested it and sure enough, when you return to the tree house, two mangrees are at ground level and are chased up trees by the camoudile. cheers Shell ETA: Ahh, actually I've discovered a small glitch in that if you haven't installed the V1.03 patch, you can't perform the first mangree move of my solution because the game thinks there is a mangree in nest number 5 (even though you saw Grandpa mangree chased into nest 4 after resetting - if you save the game without having the patch, the loaded save game has the camoudile under nest 5 all of a sudden.....) Lyn - I couldn't replicate this one. Maybe I've misunderstood - are you saying that when you go to enter the elevator the first time from Atrus' workshop, that if the symbol below the lever is not at the brightest bit of its 'glow cycle' then the elevator door will not open??? cheers shell |

I've never noticed it before. But you don't have to go that far to reset the puzzle. Only three clicks from the ladder suffice. |

Wow! That's a shock! That's exactly what I meant. And it was true for anywhere and every time I used the elevator, even after the power was turned on. However, as it turns out, apparently that process is necessary only for those with ancient computers with integrated graphics cards like I had when I first started Revelation (and basically all the way through playing Tomahna...right up until it was time to link to either Spire or Haven). At that time, I also had to wait a significant few seconds between *every* click/step - long enough in fact for a Cyan-designed hourglass to time the wait above the playing window. No one on these boards seems to have ever seen such a thing, including Heimdall_G. Anyway, I am now playing on a new computer with an nVdia card. Because I had figured out this "glow" timing while on the old computer, of course I applied it when I started a new game on my current computer. So I never noticed that it is not necessary when you're playing on a computer that meets or exceeds the system requirements. But I went back just now to check, myself, and I couldn't replicate it either. This message has been edited. Last edited by: LynComeLately, |

If you miss the hourglass, disable the visual effects and it should be back. |

I don't think Lyn is really missing it that much!
Glad you upgraded, Lyn - the games are a bit video resource hungry! |

Actually, if I had time to re-do a minimum install on the old laptop that's still hanging around, I'd go back and check it out, along with the fading power symbol. But the rest of Revelation is too much fun.
I've been reading some of the old threads, from when everyone was first playing. I feel a little nostalgic for the days I missed - when everyone was discovering it for the first time. OTOH, I am appalled at the number of people who just rushed through it to get it done and only enjoyed the exploring as a distant afterthought. For me that's the best part! |

More feedbacks:
You can enter the old memory chamber without talking to any protector (excepting Anya). Caradell will appear if you have 1. Removed the lock from the device 4 2. Talked to Yannin No need to enter the root chamber. |

Ahhhh! Thankyou realXCV! I really was confused about what triggered some events in Serenia.
I'll probably get time to do some updates this weekend - Just be prepared for me to ask you questions! cheers Shell |

Since I'm only somewhere in the middle of Serenia, I don't want to read it yet. But for a really complete walkthrough, you could mention *how* one is assigned the different spirit guides. Something realXCV knows all about.

I know a lot more than that.

You're an expert at enigmatic comments too.

Who? Me?

MichaelaMyst, can you call the vessel that's been shipwrecked a ship?
Also, in the Haven guide, how did you arrive at the directions to turn 90 degrees from where you landed after the parasail ride under the tent? The direction you face after the Camoudile leaps over you is the direction you should go to find the Mangree area, isn't it? |

Or a sail ship ! |
