I won't say "good riddance" because the age had an austere visual beauty that I liked, and the idea of riding a comet was quite clever. I'm glad there were no inhabitants of *this* world.

The music at the beginning (cello with orchestra) is my favorite. I like it enough that I may just have to use the Revelator and create my own Revelation "sound track."

The math-based puzzles drove me to distraction and defeat, referring to posters on this board and to the walkthrough repeatedly, instead of enjoying myself thoroughly.

Sirrus' voiceovers for the two journals are so perfectly arrogant and sneering that even without the spoilers I've been exposed to (and the script for the final journal), I would have known there was no real repentence or sorrow over his prior behavior. There's a big difference between saying "I'm sorry" because you know others expect it versus saying it because your heart is broken over the damage you've done.

I've read that the situation in Serenia is supposed to make the player wonder who to trust, Sirrus or Achenar. But there's no way I would EVER trust Sirrus.

I'm waiting for your complaints on the puzzles you haven't done yet in Serenia.

That'll come soon enough.

Just for "fun," I already tried carrying a bubble, a firedew drop, and a wisp of pollen to the closest approprate location possible. I can't get even one to last long enough!

Only carry one item. Not three.

Well, I know that once I replay the game to the point I am assigned my guide that I will only *need* to carry one of these.

Will the time allowed increase when I have to do it "for real"?

No. You will still be limited in time, speed and number of nodes.

That's what I thought. And because I had already seen someone's post about trying to carry something far/long enough, I tried it out as soon as I got there, just to see what it was like. Since I couldn't get any of them to their appropriate place, I already know how difficult that's going to be "for real."

I've alreay cheated to the extent of printing out a map. That's one of those things that I just can't do without. I am completely disoriented by twists and turns and I don't find that part of a game "fun." But with a map in hand, I am prepared to tackle playing around with all the water control machines.

Carrying the offrand without loosing it is not the only difficulty.

Each guide has approximately 3 locations and can only appear in one of them at a time. They can also move between thoses locations. It's not just carrying the offrand to the correct guide, it's also FINDING the guide (and hoping it doesn't move).

Yeah, I knew that from what I had read too.

My point is only that I tried to practice just carrying the thing(s) and couldn't get one to last even until I arrived at the nearest possible location a guide might appear.

Try testing this one...

Go at the linking book at the entrance of Serenia, turn around and walk to the bubbles on the right side. Pick up a bubble that will stick to the middle of the hand.

In a walking mode go forward three clicks (from memory and just before crossing the wooden bridge), turn smoothly to the left and go one click forward to the water hole. If you get that spirit, you will have to be really quick to click the bubble, on the water spirit.

P.S.
If you need more help for Serenia, start a new topic to make it easier for future players who might need help/hints/or spoilers.

Yes, realXCV, fortunately I haven't seen every spoiler. But when people put extraneous information in their topic title or, like us, in a different thread, I have learned way more than I would have chosen to.

Hey, nanoukmetal, I was planning to do that when I actually GOT there. Currently, I had digressed into discussing a "trial" visit and my attempts to practice. But I take your point so . . .
