If you want to add some vehicles from other mods to your mod first thing you should do is to ask for permission Smile

Once that's done...

Make sure you have that "new tank" folder and both destroyed versions of it "new tank_x" and "new tank_xx".
"New tank" goes to "entity/-vehicle/btr or car or light tank... or medium tank folder" and those "new tank_x" and "new tank_xx" folders go to "x" folder in the same folder where you placed your "new tank" folder...

If that "new tank" is using some "new gun" that is not already in game you'll need to find that gun file. It can be found in "set/stuff/gun/new gun file" and that's where it should be placed in your mod. Once you open that "new gun" file there should be a line describing range of that new gun. Make a note of that info and then open ".presets" file which can be found in that same "gun" folder where you found/placed your "new gun" file.
".presets" file has all gun ranges defined in it. If "new gun" file has a range which can't be found in ".presets" you've got to change that line in "new gun" file (or add/define that new range from "new gun" file to ".presets"). Just pick one of the ranges found in ".presets" and copy it to your "new gun" file. Make sure that you use ".presets" file from the patch for your mod.

Once you've done all that you'll have to find another file. It's in "interface/text/desc.lng"
That "desc.lng" file needs to have all entities from the game listed in it.
Open it with text editor and add your "new tank" under "entity" list and add "new gun" under "weapons" list.

You'll note that there is each entity written twice. The first "name" in a line has to be exact copy of your "new tank" folder name (watch out for spelling, letter case, slashes and dashes and especially for quotation marks and those curved brackets, missing or misspelled any of those and you'll get an error).
Second part of the same line will be your version of the "new tank" name and that name will appear in the game as you type it in (that name will appear under damage scheme of your "new tank" and in properties in editor.

Same thing for "new gun". The first part of the line should be exact copy of the "new gun" file name and second part is yours to pick.

I've tried to explain what the most common problem could be but you'll have check the whole "new gun" file because it can hold much more data than what I mentioned. Range is just one thing that could be "missing".

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
