I have re-installed FOW on my new gaming rig and updated it to 1.4.1a

The PC is a Quad Core, with 4GB Ram and 2x 8600GTS SLI Gfx cards, running Vista Home Premium.

The game is stopping in the training missions and only way to get control back is to press the windows button, drop out ot the desktop and
then go back in and control is regained again. Really weird.

It's not the ususal culprit, Vista as I have the same version of Vista installed on my Dual Core and that plays FOW with no issues.

GFX drivers are lates Nvidia

Any ideas?

Disable one of the GFX.

I remember when RUSgeneral got his new comp he had similar problems. At the end just removing 1G of RAM helped. I still think that's weird but doesn't hurt to try :P

It's a shame, as with all options on max, the gfx look a lot better, epscially the dynamic water

I will turn off the SLI mode and see if that fixes it, lets hope the sequel "Men of War" supports quad core and SLI

Worked by turning off the SLI mode.

I can set the games to run in either mode, so FOW is now running on one card, blistering speeds, but would have liked to see how fast on two cards

An awful lot of current games don't seem optimised for SLI, some crash, some will run ok, but give graphical glitches, at the moment, the only solution for games that have problems is disabling SLI.

I know they push new speeds and technologies and then software companies don't support them yet.

Lets hope MOW supports it, as I want to see what my rig can get in FPS with everything turned on to max and the SLI and QCore doing there stuff.

Works for now on full settings wihtout any stutter, shame the SLI mode wouldn't work
