You can stop the automatic turret movement by adding this to the brain properties of the AFV -

{Properties
{look_around 0}
}

EndoMarquise: Hmm. Does it work better if you set the date to, say, 1944 so it isn't trying to do North Africa?

Whoever asked for an option to start with no orders for your units, I added that. Here's the new feature list:

Version 1.3
- Fix for objective capture bug where mission did not complete when timer expired
- Implemented computer reserve forces which move when the objective conditions are first met
- Added randomized passengers to computer vehicles
- Aerial attacks implemented
- Reduced the number of soldiers in the squads to 8 or less
- Unit Details Screen accessible from Force Selection Screen
- Added option in Settings Screen for the player's units to begin each mission without orders
- Procurement points are limited to a maximum of 200 at one time
- Starting procurement points increased to 100 for USA to improve playability since it lacks effective anti-tank guns (this could also be seen as reflecting industrial advantage)

I'll put out a new version soon (this weekend, unless something goes wrong). Zeke Wolff has kindly contributed several maps for this version, including a couple of desert maps. His maps are 7+ megabytes zipped. Should I release this in two separate files, or put them all together?

Filon: there are many reasons it might not work. Some of the more obvious things to check are:

- you must leave the DCG running in the background while you play FoW

- the folders in the settings window must all be correct

Can you post the contents of your settings.xml?

filon1o2: I see the problem. In your save path, it ends with ..\profiles\campaign

It should end with ..\profiles\[your profile name]\save\[your save game name]

mine is:

..\profiles\player\save\campaign

Make sure your path is real...

Hi,

Having a problem here. I never get the two beeps after saving a completed mission, and never get to see a second mission. What could be wrong?

Using XP SP2, FoW v1.04.1. Settings are as per filon1o2's screenshot.

Adger,

Have your check the paths in the settings?

First setting should look somewhat like this:
C:\Program\Ubisoft\Faces of War(Swedish settings, ie. my settings)
<C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Faces of War (Jasons default setting)>

Second setting...
C:\Program\Ubisoft\Faces of War\mods\Campaign\resource\map\single\3\0-0-training (my settings)
<C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Faces of War\mods\Campaign\resource\map\single\3\0-0-training (Jasons settings)>

Third setting... (which are the ones that most people are having problem with it seems...)
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Ägaren\Mina dokument\my games\faces of war\profiles\player\save\save (my settings)
In English (I´m Swedish thats why some of the words in the 3rd setting looking funny to you non-Swedes... Smile ) it should be:
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents\my games\faces of war\profiles\player\save\save

The "player" is the same as the handle you uses whenever you login to FoW. First "save" is the location of your save folder, and the second "save" is the savefile´s name. It can be anything, like "result", "****", "lost", etc. This (name)file is the one you should use when you´ve won a battle. If you use any other name, you wont hear the two beeps (any other word will just save the current battles progress and nothing else) and you wont be able to get to the next battle.

Hopefully this will get you going. If not, dont hesitate, just ask again.

~Zeke.

Zeke,

That fixed it. I read the last entry of the third setting as a folder name, instead of a filename. All working now, many thanks,
John

IdealistTCO,

You need to create a folder called "Mods" in the main Faces of War folder. Then place "Dynamic Campaign Generator" (DCG for short) in this new "Mods" folder and it´ll be available in the Mods option menu.

Cool, I did all that and now I'm playing usin the 1.5 patched version but when I play I don't see the same large scale battles. Not a whole lot of NPC allies spawn when I am outnumbered and I don't have a reinforcement screen that comes up after the objective is complete. I am just stuck on the map. I'm alittle bit disappointed at the moment if someone can help me out let me know.

You´ve got the Mod running, but you can only play the same map over and over again, right?

If this is true, then I must ask you: Do you have the DCG executable running in the background? This is a MUST if the mod shall work correctly, always start the Campaign.exe before starting Faces of War, and leave it running in the background.

Then when you´ve completed your mission, you must save the game under the name you created for this (read my reply to Adger four or five posts above this one).

When saving correctly under the correct name, you´ll automatically be transported to the buy menu etc (if this doesnt happen automatically, use the ALT-TAB option to get there) and a new mission will start as soon as you have bought new, replaced old units etc and hits the "Done" button.
