Jozor, Fallout 1 and 2 were mainly RPGs (role-playing games, not rocket-propelled grenades Hammer), while Fallout Tactics was a tactical squad-based combat game (in many regards similar to FoW). I'm not looking so much forward to Fallout 3 as I am to Fallout Tactics 2.

Speaking of war games, stay away from "Moscow to Berlin - Red Siege....the game blows green bananas.

Kid, what I meant by increasing difficulty was that in the full version of FoW, the missions of the campaign should be, at the beginning, very easy and then increasingly difficult. This way, the gamers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the game interface. Fighting a whole army in the first missions of any campaign (Allied, Soviet, German) will not be cool, but confusing.

Yes i oredy know this.. lol.. i like both games but FoT aint reali true to fallout if u look at armors and stuff and it would be nicer if it was atleast open ended or something like on Fo1&2 where u could run around and stuff but apart from armors and how its so closed ended it was ok i geuss :/ AND they removed friking uses for passive things.. but left them in.. wtf..? FoT still sucks as a Fo title.. i'd rather a Fo3 than FoT2 unless the FoT2 was more like fallout in armors and stuff.. but it wouldnt be.. just because its a tactical squad based combat game dosent mean it can **** all over the Fo title -.-

Yeah, well, what can I say Mr. U-51, you're comparing a playable demo with the vague interview of one of the devs. What was he supposed to say: that the game he's creating is gonna suck?!

I've seen the screenies, and I'm not impressed. Heck, one of the Soviet anti-tank teams is in the open!!! Hilarious...Try reading von mellenthin's "Panzer Battles". Among other things the Soviets were master of camouflage. It's called Maskirovka. If we're 10 years old, you're still swimming in your daddy's balls...

Did mr. Mellenthin by any chance wrote in his book that tank battles were fight at ranges 30-40 meters? No?

Well, since von Mellenthin died some time ago, I won't use the appelative Mr.

What I can tell you is that after Operation Citadel, on the Eastern Front, the distance of armoured engagement diminished considerably, much to the Germans' dismay (as the number of their tanks decreased, while the number of Soviet tanks considerably increased). After July 1943, as great number of Russian tanks were thrown against the Tigers, Panthers, Mk IV, etc. the advantage of German armour dissapeared. The 88mm German gun (on the Tiger) wrecked havoc amongst Soviet tanks at distances over a mile, but at distances under 100 yards, their thick armour was vulnerable even to a projectile from a 76 mm (the T-34 came in many versions, but the most common were the ones equipped with the 76 and 85mm). The German tanks simply could not take out in time all the Soviet tanks. It was quality vs. quantity. So, yes, after Citadel, the distance of engagement diminished to under 100 yards. Moreover, in Normandy, after Overlord, both sides had tanks inside towns. That is a major tactical mistake! FIBUA and tanks don't go together too well. Inside towns, tanks became extremely vulnerable (I guess you already watched "Saving Private Ryan".

A tiger could successfully penetrate all tanks from a distance of 1800 meters in the period of 1942 - 1944. Of course when outnumbered and because of the relative slow reload times even 5 Sherman’s attacking the same tiger in range could sometimes eliminate this tiger.
In 1943 the T-34/85 could penetrate the tiger from 1500 meters although only by hitting them from either side.

Actually not only the demo get's top marks for unrealism ... the full version of the game is full of bugs , funny situations ( like Tiger can't penetrate a Sherman even from 1 meter but the Sherman can take Tiger from looong distance even with one hit Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Let's not speak about the King Tiger destroyed by one hit Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin This is faaaaaaaar from the reality ).
