Hi everyone, here is a tutorial for you guys!

I'm not finished with it, so I will update it from time to time.

One think I would like to mention, please don't ask me how to script this and that, find it out yourself, it's the way to learn it.

I made them as Images so you can download them by save as. Enjoy!

I wrote this yesterday, so there may be some mistakes.
To be continued...

I didn't know you worked at BestWay!? Nice tutorial... is it also in PDF format so I can print it out??

May I ask what you mean by "do not use human or vehicle entities in mapeditor"?

I've noticed I can't place objects that have an "extender" defined for them. We should put up a place to post Editor Bugs & Work-arounds...

It's not paper format, but you can save all .jpgs and print them in a row, maybe they are a little bit smaller than the paper is.

I will upload PDF version when the Tutorial is finished!

-fauna
-vehicle
-human

those folders should not be used in mapeditor. Place this stuff via missioneditor.

I was hoping to find the missing submarine model....

I did find the huge crane they show near the submarine that I never saw in the game. It is holding a bunch of torpedoes for loading!

I love the new feature with this engine (compared to SHOWW2) where you can have random "details" show up on the vehicles so that they look individualized and not just clones of one another.

How do I edit the numbers of ammunition?

For example, I put a clip on ground, but it only has 1 bullet in each clip. Now I want to have 1-n bullets in a clip, how do I perform this?

Best Way and 1C company are proud to announce release of editor for strategic bestseller "Faces of War".

To run editor you need to install patch 1.04.1

I have looked everywhere for the sandbags.
What category are they in?

Also when I place some objects like the gate they are invisible.

Also your tut is great.

EDIT: Also another thing that I want to know, How do I place vehicles on the train flatcars like in the training mission. When I put them ontop they just are frozen when I play the mission.

Have you looked at how BestWay did it in their missions?? (That's first place I would look)

The editor is so new, I'm just saying it might be a while before you get an answer. Maybe you could be the one that figures it out. Smile

I made an "template" with OpenOffice Draw, which can export it to PDF directly. Its just a template and im too lazy to copy all the stuff into it.

Test export to pdf. Only one page...

OpenOffice (Draw) file.

Perhaps a wiki page is a good idea for all modding stuff...

Ok guys, I updatet the Tutorial!

I hope I find all your questions...

tank loading:
select entity mode
open console
select tank
hold shift
select train flatcars
go to console
type link
and select the command editor suggests.

You shouldn't place ammo on the bottom, but if you want to: Go to entity mode select soldier, got to play mode, press ctrl+i and drag and drop ammo to him. Let him throw ammo to the bottom.
