Here's a new version with lots of changes, including Close Combat 2/3 style "operations." One tester has had crashes with the third-party dlls that load the minimap.dds files. There are probably lots of other bugs, but I'm trying to find out if these crashes are common...

Hello Jason,

The new version keep on crashing as soon as i validate the battle preparation.

(no problem with version 1.3)

Very nice mod btw, thanks for it.

KinCoyote: (I'm assuming first of all that you have .NET 2.0 installed properly) -- the crash seems to be related to having installed Win XP over Win 2000 and having the Windows folder as C:\WINNT instead of C:\Windows. Is that the case for you?

Nope, it's a proper/clean installation of XP. in c:\windows

1.1/2.0/3.0 .net are installed. (and J# Version 2.0)

And i have just played with campaign 1.3, 6hours tonight without a crash.

Here is the error message, if it could help>

Well, maybe when we solve the WINNT install problem, we'll discover the answer for this one, too. Is there anything unusual about your computer setup that you can think of?

ok, i unpacked it and ran the extract all maps:


Then i start the new campaign but this windows comes:


My FOW is version 1.04.1a


But it still lets me buy units but when im done it crashes:

VicemanFIN: I see one problem. In the error message you posted, the folder Mods is missing from the path. Check your paths in the Settings window...

To jason111,

can you tell me how to change the files of the units so i may but them in another folder to use (another mod). what i mean is how may i move the vechiles and skins to a nother mod folder with out it crashing on me? also if you can can you try to explain how to get this to work? somewhat of a more understanding description? also does this mod have more from thepoorcook's reskins?

Hi Jason, I've a problem with Dcg, i can't save any mission so i can't play the campaign. Any suggestions?

it's right?

Only three units at the start of campaign isn't too few?
I've noticed that we can choose the skins of vehicles but not the the infantry ones, if i could choose them too it's would be fine in order to implement the new squads.
I'm making new schemes for vehicles too.

there something wrong in my settings but now everything works fine.

-I need a line to change infantry skins (i've too much folders)as you did for the tanks
-I can't see scurtzen and details on the vehicles

Hey jason! Awesome work mate! keep it up!

It improved a lot since the last time i tried your mod

Now it looks like a professional skirmish mod, with no chaotic combats like it was when it was random forces. Now you grow up with your army and fight against the enemy (which is always better).

Though sometimes im with my 3 riflesquads and enemy has Panzers, and Tigers.. Lots of Mortars and Forces and im very reduced, in those Custom maps "Bocage form" (which are good, but not for starting, because your rifle guys arent good in that combat style, open field and very few against a numberous enemy which has tanks)

I wonder how to increase Squad limits since mine is 3 and enemy has lots of forces including tanks and stuff when im only limited to simple squads and only 3 :/

Though I loved it, since it adds some realism to the units, correct damage of weapons and such stuff make it really good, i survived with one guy in one of the mission, taking out many enemies

For example first mission, i had two inf squads and one machine gun. Started in Omaha (in the water, the enemy were at defense, very good job in there) and the enemy had 3 Tanks, 2 artillery guns, 3 Infantry Squads and two Heavy Machine Guns :S
How im supposed to win that one? no position advantage and less in number by lots?

Also it would be good to have a "random army" button to autogenerate forces with the points we have..

Still adds lots of replayability to faces of war good enough to reinstall

Please Keep it up!

EDIT: LOL ive just noticed you can set where your squads start! Thats an awesome feature mate!

EDIT2: Sometimes (once per 5 games ive had) i get a crash to desktop with an error with a program error something like that

Thanks saif_revolucion! You can still adjust the number of units in the settings.xml file. Each operation you win adds one to that number up to the max.

Each nation has some anti-tank or artillery pieces and some armored vehicles that are affordable at the beginning as well. Most infantry squads have plenty of anti-tank grenades also Smile

thanks, there ive edited my post...

also about the number each operation is supposed to increase... my max number of squads is always 3 :S i just won a mission and still cant add new squads to my list

EDIT: I get Program Terminated when combat is too intense (too many Forces in the map doing lots of actions)
