Has anyone experienced their SH4 moving in very slow time? Keyboard commands do not respond, mouse seems to float over the screen. HP said my Geforce 9300 GE was working fine, so the problem must be with the dvd. I installed SH4 in Mar of 09 and this problem started in Sep of 09. Ubisoft has not been much help either.

Welcome to the SH Forums, frankejo. Happy to have you with us. Big Grin

First thing I would ask you is what version of SHIV are you using? Next would be, have you patched the game at all? Next would be have you made any changes to your computer before your problems started?

Hi Tambor198...

To answer your questions, it's SH4 Wolves w/ U-Boat Missions. None of the patches have been applicable...my version is the most up-to-date? I have not made any changes to my computer...the pc way purchased in Feb. It's made for games and completely compatible for this game.

I installed the game in March and up until the last few weeks, the game performed w/o any problems. After uninstall/install, numerous calls to HP and Ubisoft, I still have a slow moving game. I don't know what to do. (2) full system recoveries, (2) system restores...nothing works.

I would appreciate any advice...and before I forget, is that a Cubs logo under your name???

FrankeJo

Morning Frank

Ok, the next thing I would suggest is go ingame to your graphic settings and lower all settings to minimal. Do the same with your graphic settings in your Nvidia Control Panel. Try running running the game again and see if there is any improvement.

(Sigh!!!)Yes, that is the Cub Logo you see as my avatar. Wait till next year!! Veryhappy

Hey Tambor 198...

Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner...been really busy. As for your help, I think I can handle changing the graphics on the actual game, but the Nvidia control panel make me nervous. I found 3 main headings...3D settings, display, video. What would you recommend for changes, and in what category? I'm not a pc wizard by any means.

Thanx for the Cardinal help...the way they have played the past two weeks, they need it!!!

OK...I lowered the 3D settings from quality to performance and loaded the game and it is a lot better. I then lowered the game graphics from medium to low, and that helped too. Is there anything else you can think of that will prevent the mouse from floating across the screen? It never did that until last month when I lost everything.

Also, after making these adjustments, should I uninstall and reinstall the game?

The only only thing I can think of that would make things better for you would be a better video card for your computer, but if the game plays reasonably well right now, then that's a decision that can be deferred till later.

After making your adjustments I don't think you need to reinstall the game, Frank. I don't think the game was the problem.

SHIV is a very graphic intensive game and for most of the time things will run fairly well, but when alot of ships and you attacking it raises the load on your graphics card which might have overloaded it.

Go figure...

The sports editor of the Post-Dispatch said that the Cardinals were playing like a certain team from Chicago...who will go nameless...in the playoffs. Walking Pujols was smart, but it wasn't anything that the Cardinals hadn't seen all year.
In the playoffs, being hot at the right time is all that matters regardless of how good you are, or what your record is. The 83 win Cardinals of 2006 are living proof of that.

Imagine how Mark DeRosa feels. Two years in a row he goes to the playoffs for two different teams and both years he goes three and out to the Dodgers. Veryhappy

Good point...he's a great dude too...very positive influence in the clubhouse. He's having surgery on his wrist and he said he wants to come back to St. Louie. He'd own 3rd base for the next few years.
