OK so I installed the game and the latest patch under admin. Tried to run and got a no start because of some protection issue. dwnloaded the star-force thingy (gives you an idea of my computer knowledge), ran it and it told me I have no protection. So what gives ? (I also tried running under XP/98/95 in shortcut properties)

Hey wolfehunter what is error code 2? I try running the game a little box comes up and says internal error when accesing one of the aplications librarys error code 2 and then stuff about custemer support can you help me?

Don't know.. never seen it.. Could be a corrupt file? Can you post the log on here?

I have Vista x64 and get an protection system error message stating that the game can be launched with Win 95/98/xp 2003 only. Because of the Starforce thing, does this mean I cannot play SH3 because I have Vista 64?

vista ultimate 64 bit, Silent hunter 3.
1. First of all - install enywhere you like , but don't install SH3 in Program files directory! 2.After that a good nodvd (thats a shame for starforce, because I have original dvd, but must google for nodvds). Thats all, it works for me.

Follow the page to help you updated to the latest starforce if needed. For those who can't seem to get SH3 working because of the DRM.

Help! Went to this url, downloaded the update tool, but when I run it, all I get is a message that there are no drivers to update. SH3 refuses to launch because it insists that Window 95 or XP is required. tried compatability mode. No joy. Installed everything as administrator. Can't get past the above error.

Hello everyone, I am also having the same problem as above I can't get passed the DRM. I've tried running the updater and the remove but both come up with a software not found message. I also ran everything as administrator but now luck.

Look like the ultimate answer to all my probleme have to be send to me by email...

This is the answer to my prayers ... I've spent the day trying to learn about DRM circa 2005 to make this work, and no joy till now.

I'm running Vista Home Premium x64, and have exactly the same problems as the last few posters.

And, at last, I seem to have found the peeps who have the answer. I hope.

I'm having the same exact issues as the posters above. I've tried removing Starforce, and it's not finding it anywhere on my system. Tried all of the other tips as well. Can anyone help?
