I would like to try the Trigger Maru mod and was wondering what the best way to go about installing SH4 in a second directory is.

I have oodles of room on my new drive, so I figured that would be the easiest way to try the mod and not mangle all my saved campagins.

Thanks

There is a utility called MultiSHIV which allows you to install as many versions of SHIV on your HDD as you want. What version of SHIV are you using?

Hello madkiwis,

Welcome

You can use Widows Explorer and just drag the main folder over to your other drive. Say putting it in the Program folder on the new drive. Take the Ubi or Silent Hunter folder and move it there.

When you do move this version and you start to play it you will see how the saved games from the other game, on the other drive is showing up on your saved game list.
There is a program out called MultiSH4 1.5 that makes a new folder for each version you move. The saves you see are just for that game. If you click on the MultiSH4 link above it will take you to a download page over at Subsims. You have to be a member of Subsims to download it.
After you download and unzip it, check out the readme file. It will explain what to do.

This is from the MultiSH4 1.5 readme file -

SH4 Compatibility

MultiSH4 1.5 has been tested with SH4 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 (U-Boat Missions expansion pack). If it detects a version of Filemanager.dll it does not recognise you will receive the error message:

Unknown version of Filemanager.dll.
MultiSH4 will now exit.

tambor198 I didn't see your post until I posted mine. It looks like this new version is good for all versions of SH4.

As always Yooper, you're on the ball. I was not aware that there was a newer version of MultiSHIV available. Thanks for the head's up. Big Grin
