i just bought the game today,i installed it fine with all of the options available i then patched it from 1.3 to 1.4.every time started the game it would play both intro videos then it goes to a black screen but plays what sounds like menu music
i have tried the following already

updating drivers
running as administrator
deleting the intro movies folder

also my pc specs are as follows:
core 2 quad 8300
4gb ram
9500gt 1gb
windows vista home premium 32bit

I hope i can fix this as the game looks awsome thanks in advance for replies

Welcome to the SH4 Forum.

When you installed the game did you also install the Directx that came with the game.
You need Directx 9 to run this game. You should see it on your Dvd.

Yes i installed directx 9 and all of the other features on the dvd

i ahve got 2 answers to your question:
A. it is crashing or loading (a pc with the min requiments crsded a lot of times)
B. it's loading
well that's me, other people might know what it is

Ex1te you said you deleted the intro movies but in your post you say it plays the intro movies and then goes black.
So does it still play the intro movies?

while i had the intro movies folder it played the intro movies then went to the balck screen after i deleted the intro folder it now just goes straight to the balck screen with the music

I have had the same thing you have but i found out how to get rid of the black screen and to get the game up and running.Sence you have NVIDIA just right click on desktop and click ->NVIDIA control panel ->manage 3d settings -> program settings tab.It should look like this.



Anisotropic filtering and antialiasing - setting should be at 2x

I have the same problem (get the loading screen, then just black, no menu). I've updated my graphics and sound drivers, and added the above into my Nvidia control panel, but still get just a black screen...

I bought the game through Steam, so I'm not sure if i can update/reinstall it manually at all...

Oops, nevermind. Deleting the intro movies as well fixed the problem
