So it came to my attention a little while ago that you’re not particularly keen on the current forum banner (you thought I had forgotten about that hadn’t you)


I’ve been contemplating what might be more suitable, more importantly what ‘you’ would all like before I came to the conclusion I would probably still get it wrong (or at least not right) lol so we’ve came up with an idea I hope you all like.


How about YOU design the new banner??

Yes that’s right… we are opening up the gates for you all to try out at designing your very own Forum banner and I am hoping you will all take the opportunity to show me what you’re made of


So what’s required and how to enter?

Taking part is pretty straight forward… Design your idea of the perfect banner for the forum. Once you have done host the image and post a thumbnail OR the image link within this thread. Please keep the original PSD file just in case and in the unlikely event someone decides to ‘borrow’ your work we can ensure they don’t get through


Depending on the number of entries (I’m hoping your going to come out in force on this ) once the closing date has passed we will select a few finalists and then open it up to a member vote* on the forums


The lucky winner will see their banner design gloriously displayed within this very forum


Closing date: I want to allow you all a reasonable time to get your imagination and creative juices flowing so will leave this open for a couple of weeks with the closing date to post your entry Sunday 17th February (we will accept all entries posted ‘before’ start of business on Monday 18th February i.e. 9am GMT)

how about instead of a banner competition we get some news about the GRAW2 PC PATCH ?????

Here is my entry.

So it came to my attention a little after GRAW1 was released on PC that customers and PC gamers are not particularly keen on the current trend of Ghost Recon and Rainbow six games

Since it costs to much listening to customers
and releasing a bug free game time for a comp
to take away some heat from the people
feed back on the forum and the internet

All hope is gone for the GR/R6 series
I hope you like the reduced series for what its
become thanks for throwing us your money
in expecting the series to get better .

We will be installing a new valut to accept
your cash upon our release of R6 Vegas 2
and GRAW3 in 2008 ....

snoopyau contrary to what you seem to believe your opinions are being feed back and I have stated I am looking into more information on the patch.

The purpose of this competition is that the community here complained they didnt like the existing banner and I thought rather than force another on you all that you might equally dislike it would be nice if you all had chance to create your own. Now if nobody wants to do that and feels this is silly by all means dont take part and keep the banner you have

Either way I will bring news of the patch as soon as I have it

Do you need a magnifying glass and a binocular maybe ? Seems you have been "looking into" it for quite a while now!

You can get a binocular at your local sports shop and you will probably find a magnifying glass at your local book store or hardware store..

Regarding the Banner why not dig up some stock artwork of Rayman looking fierce, then wash it out in sepia?
Honestly, what difference does the banner make?
Why not a contest to come up with a less schizophrenic forum format instead?

I didn't know what size to make it but seing that the on eon top is 900 x 120 I asumed it was that size. Also you didn't mention if it had to be a static banner or a animated one, so I made an animated one. the footprint is quite large but I can make it under 100k.

So here it is hope you like it, I will play with it a bit more later and ad some stuff.

Well it need to be about GR (which it was/is) and is for this forum so no links or web addresses for other websites

I didnt mention animation originally because i actually hadnt thought about it tbh, I will check first thing Monday if its a problem and let you all know a.s.a.p.

Sorry its taken me soooo long to get back on this question (been a busy week) I've check and no sadly we cannot use animated banners

But if you can provide that one as a standard banner in its end stage so to speak that would be awesome

Quick update, this one hasnt been forgotten since we cant use animation I'm trying to confirm something before going further

"I am having problems login in, it always gives me a "system error" and it tels me to log out then log back in but it doesn't work. Can you post in there that I am having trouble posting in there that is why I haven't posted in it"
