Hi all, I am having GREAT difficulty getting down the "main bridge" heading to the "second boarder" crossing where the enemy waits for me before I get to where the nukes are. I am playing on HARD using a sniper M99 (me) with one support and two rifleman using two M16 scoped. I keep getting taken down by those damn mounted machine gun nests. I have tried playing this level for over a week now and just keep getting taken out by the mounted machineguns. My computer AI guys keep getting wacked the second they even try to return fire, there NO help and have been trying to beat this level on my own.

Any help and I would be gratefull! Big Grin

This is a hard mission and has been covered in here before.

The best advice is to keep low and go slow.
Have a look at the game guide at the top of the forum.

I made it with my whole team dead and with only one bar of life for half the map, it was hard!

After over 30 days of crawling over the this stupid lame ass POS bridge and playing the same lame ass POS game segment Over and Over and Over and Over and over and over and over I have moved on to more interesting games. Games that actually have a real "SAVE GAME" function so you can actually progress through the game. Not much point in playing the same 45 minutes of game segment over and over and not being able to save your progress. This game would have been A1 over the Top if it could be finished. Waste of Money !

I used the "peek" option as I slowly moved down the bridge. This works especially well if you're carrying the M14 scoped. One thing....SAVE GAME as much as you can. If you get the "Saving not allowed" message, move your character back a bit and try again.

What a helpful post! - I managed to finish it quite easily!

I used the AI guys as mules, send em ahead, save just before tho, then look where the shooting comes from.

take it easy.

I have solved all the levels, yes this is a difficult level but that's the fun of it, you can save the game if you wait after gunfire, and the lettering of saving not allowed goes away, always choose the scoped rifle and go slow looking at everything thru the scope.
take a couple of steps and look again carefully, the enemy will appear if you give it time.

I left most of my team behind about half way up the bridge. Teammate ordered to attack copter when it came. Moved forwards slowly in middle of bridge crouched and took out first 50 cal in the middle behind van with scoped rifle. Moved to left side of bridge crouched and eventually saw two 50 cals on right side of bridge and took them out one at a time. Make sure you take out snipers as you go. Take a step or two and then look real good through scope both sides. Went to prone position and ordered airstrike to take out tank. Took out all other tangos as I crawled forwards slowly. They will not appear until you get close enough to them for your graphics to display them. Go real slow and save often as you take out something important like a tank or copter. Rest of map not too difficult from there.

It's a tough mission. You just have to be very careful and go slow. I always have a sniper guy with me as he seems to spot the enemy quicker than anyone else and he never misses his target.

This mission sucks immense hairy balls tbh.

Use Brettzies pack.

You want a Mk12 with a sound supressor, something else for CQB, a missile tube (and another sniper with a supp. Mk12) and two more guys with supressed rifles. A MG isn't terrifically useful as most of the shooting is at longish ranges.

If you insist on not using the pack use M14s with a supressor and scope.

The supressor prevents the entire map knowing where you are when you shoot.

Keep restarting till you insert without any serious injuries.

It's basically all about creeping forward and shooting the bad guys in the face with the Mk12.

The turrets are obviously you main worry. There's a few bad guys to the sides when you're going back across the bridge. There's also a proned guy with an RPG on a rooftop somewhere.

Um.

When you get an airstrike and an artillery strike save the airstrike for the tank.

Once you've done the bridge it's pretty simple. You have to clear a few streets and then a missile silo.

I found that kitting out my gun with a silencer/supressor helped a lot. Then I just stayed low and worked my way down the right-hand side.

This is about the Best Mission on the whole Damn Campaign, coded and programmed so stupidly is not even funny but the best nonetheless.

Why in the world would you insert in the middle of a Battlezone is beyond me, why still would you do so at arm length from 2 MG's is another, why in God's name are you teammates so Stupid could be a third but... a nice mission nonetheless! Veryhappy

For anyone having problems with this map, I did a few lenghty explanation back in the day and so did others, don't expect me to walk you down the line, right? Do a little search and you'll find it.

Needless to say, I stop carrying so much for my dead/stupid teammates so I did the whole thing on my own and Hardcore... Hint? Suppressed Sniper rifle with Suppressed MP5 and nades, go prone, snipe a head or two, walk a few paces slow, check map, save, rinse and repeat!!! Veryhappy

What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? If you guys think the Vegas 2 forums are crowded with hate & Negative posts from the PS3 and the few 360 folks, wait until the PC game is launched... Wink2

It was work, but I learned, I but two of my men on the machine guns and just let them stay there until I was over have way across. Stay to the right side until you are almost to the car hanging over the side, crawl and shoot back at enemys thought the openings, then work down the middle behind cars and trucks, work by yourself, Keep your team well behind you they are not to smart! Stay low, get the snipers on the roof tops as soon as you can, you will learn where they are after getting shot a few times, then shoot the machine guns, one in middle of the bridge and one at the gate. Save as often as you can. Remember slow and careful. I enjoyed the it, made me think. Tank waiting for you on the other side, have fun!!

hello guys,
indeed, it is the hardest part of the whole game, but you CAN finish it. I tried on many different ways, for not getting killed in the first minutes. Myself used scoped and suppressed M14, throwing out the demolisher Jenkins and replaced it by Hume and gave him a suppressed and scoped M14 too, then stay low, low, as low as you can and be always on the scope. and save, save, save, as often as you can, I cannot say more. You have probably to replay this section many, many times over again, and remember when and at which point new Tangos where triggered, and you can finish it.
This game is not a waist of money.

Is there any place on the bridge that you can save? Once the flak starts going, I get the marines, there doesn't seem to be any place I can save. I've tried moving everyone back as far as I can go, and still no joy.

You got to Fool the system (so to speak), walk a little bit and press the Quicksave button, if it doesn't, walk a little more and repeat... IT WILL WORK!!!

Actually last time I played through I had to walk all the way back to one side to save.
