I just bought GRAW 2 for my pc I installed the file and when I went to play the game I received a "corrupt file: game file is corrupt pls reinstall" msg
I have updated bios/chipset, audio, video, directx, and several other features on my computer to no avail. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled the game at least 10 times from 2 seperate dvds. I purchased the game from best buy i returned original game and received a new unopened package same problem. The game will run on my laptop from game disc or demo download from filefront but not playable due to inadequate processor speed on laptop. Game will not run on my desktop neither the purchased game nor the demo without giving me the corrupt game file msg. System Specs: CPU: 2 processors running - Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.80GHz CPU Speed: 2.80 GHz Performance Rated at 4.20 GHz RAM: 1023.3 MB OS: Winxp sp2 build 2600 Video: ATI Radeon x1600 RAM 512.0 MB 3d acceleration HW Transform & Lighting Vertex shader 3.0 Pixel Shader 3.0 Driver Version 6.14.10.6755 Audio: RealTek a97 driver version 2.0.29.0 DVD: HP DVD Writer 300n |

I have only seen this a couple of times on this forum, both I believe turned out to be dvd reader related.
Try another dvd player or copy the entire dvd to drive and see if that works. |

i know no-cd cracks arent to be discussed on the forums but pls make an exception. If i download my game to my hard drive would i need to have a no -cd crack to get it to operate?

You are right about not talking about no cd cracks and no we dont make exceptions.
Graw 2 does not require authentication from the dvd, in other words once the game is loaded you do not have to have the dvd in the drive for it to operate. I hope this helps. |

Are you running anything else while the game is installing? What is the exact message? why don't you make an ISO of the CD or DVD and then install from the ISO with a virtual drive? or buy a new DVD rom, they are cheap right now.

Try this please.
Reinstall the InstallScript engine. To reinstall the InstallScript engine from InstallShield Developer, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer. 2. Open the following folder: C:\Program Files\InstallShield\Developer\Redist\Language Independent\i386. 3. Double-click Isscrpt.msi. 4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. |

want2snipe i have no clue how to make an ISO but ill try to look it up and try that option. hehe and buying a dvd player when the jobs not been to busy this time of year (home remodeling who wants their home fixed, repaired or upgraded at Christmas time |
||||
|
ok i think that want2snipe had the solution i needed
Buy a new dvd player. Here's why i didnt realize that the GRAW2 disc is a dual layer disc. My current DVD player only reads a single layer so therefore it might not be completing the installation. I appreciate your help colin and want2snipe it is greatly appreciated. |

I figured out what my problem was i had to go to control panal. In the control panel I went to Administrative tools then to local security policies. From there i went to security option then to Software Restriction Policies and clicked on the trusted publishers policy. I changed this from Local Computer Administrators to End User and that fixed my problem. It also allowed me to install Directx9.0c without getting the error:
"A cabinet file necessary for instalation cannot be trusted. Please verify the cryptographic services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid." I figured i'd post this in case anyone else ran into the same problem. and to thank you all for your help |

I only heard of that problem with VISTA but never with XP, although, IIRC, that was one of the first things I took out when XP was first introduced but I didn't see that anymore on any of the new installations I have done recently.
Well, glad you got it working... that's all that matters, right? ---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? Yea all i wanted was for it to work but would have been nicer if ubi support hadn't told me that they don't support software that is used on dvd +/- r or rw devices makes me not want to purchase anything from the again. I don't even know of a computer that ships with a dvd-rom drive only it sounds ridiculous to me. heh oh well i always end up dealing with the rear end in products support anyhow lol thats why i just go online
