I know this is probably a really dumb question, but I'm kind of, er, stuck on how to order squadmates. I just got the game, start the first mission, and get to my first squadmate. I use middle mouse to bring up the menu, scroll to "follow", and then...........I can't figure out how to confirm it. I tried middle mouse again, left click, right click, tried the "execute" key, "use" key, everything.
Help? I know I'm being dumb, but I can't figure it out >.>
Middle click works for me. Try resetting your control settings.

Even for a flop on pc i got to admit that the vision of the artist(s) for Vegas is beyond speech. What i am seeing in game now is by far the best i have seen in any other game for realism. (coding) was the problem.
For a community that had potential to help YOU(UBI) they are the ones lurking in the shadows waiting for something better and you refuse to help. Even yourself.? This I don't understand.
Release some tools to the pc community for an over all better RaInbow 6 division.
Load the game. Go to>> OPTIONS>CONTROLS>MISC> and make sure CROSS-COM USE says MOUSE 2. MOUSE 2 will almost always be the middle mouse button on a mouse with a clickable scroll wheel.
Yeah, cross-com is definately middle mouse, it's just not working for some reason. The dropdown menu for the commands works fine, but ordering the command doesn't work. Cross-Com also still only responds to middle mouse even if I bind it to another key for some reason. I also have a steam copy if that has anything to do with it.
I have a Logitech mouse with its own software. I don't use Logitech's software anymore. I recall I had to go into Logitech's mouse settings to make the middle mouse button a GENERIC BUTTON. After I did that, I was able to use the middle mouse button as the Cross-Com action in the game.
I just purchased the game from Steam as well and I'm having the same issue. My mouse2 button pulls up the selection screen, but I can't actually select anything.
