I've searched through the forums and haven't been able to find an answer, but if I've missed it somewhere let me know.
I am having a similar problem...I finish the "loaded for bear" mission (finished it about 8 times now), get picked up, watch the video, and then when I go to do "next mission" it freezes on loading and never recovers. If I don't go to "next mission", but go to the menu, I can go back and load my last checkpoint in "loaded for bear", but if I try and continue the campaign I sent back to "Coup d'etat". The game has worked fine up until now. How does the save system work in GRAW, and can I edit a file or the registry somewhere to force it past this point? I'm stuck in my own private "Groundhog Day" movie...only its just me and the Ghosts and 2 tanks and the day just keeps happening over and over again... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Hi guys. There is a search-tool here: go to the 'find'-button on top of this page and type 'ready for bear'.
On the page that you will see then, there is one gamer saying: "Interesting..the prob seems to have disappeared by deleting the six checkpoints..." Hope that helps. |

progast: "there is a search tool here". I'm assuming that was a ****. Thanks.
I guess you missed the first line of my post where I said I did search, and if you'd read my post a bit more carefully you'd see my problem has nothing to do with the 6th checkpoint of "loaded for bear". My problem is after I play the through the last checkpoint (#9) in "loaded for bear" the next mission ("quarterback") will not load properly, and I'm hoping there is a simple solution. I realize I'm not one of your regulars on here, I came here because I enjoy the game and was just hoping someone could provide some help. Again, thanks. |

Hammer, I did read your earlier post very carefully. You did not read mine very well.
I simply gave you and Henri-Paul a search-option that you may, or may not already have used. I did NOT speak of 'the 6th checkpoint'. I quoted a gamer who had -in my opinion- the same prob in the past. He/she deleted all his/her saves on this mission. (He/she said 'six', you say nine, and I don't know).. After doing that and playing the mission once more, the next mission LOADED without any problem. That is how I understood it. You see, you are missing the point, you are offensive (and then 'thank' me?!), you don't read carefully and you don't know the right name of the mission that you are talking about.. I have the same problem on the Quarterback mission. I have Vista so normally GRAW crashes every time I change level but Quarterback seemed to really break the saves too. I downloaded a mission unlocker from here and just started Quarterback as a mission select.

pxmm: Thanks.
As much as I have enjoyed playing the last bit of "loaded for bear" over and over and over...sure, I've seen a lot of beautiful scenery along the way...I am ready for a change. Another friend of mine had the same problem at the end of "loaded for bear" as well, and said he just kept playing from the last checkpoint (9) and after about 6 times managed to make it work and continue on and load the quarterback mission. I'm on VISTA as well, and do remember having a problem with an ealier mission loading, but exiting the game and coming back in then solved the problem. If I come across a better solution, I'll post it, but for now I'll give "grawunlock" a try. |

oh, and sorry guys.
progast was right about one thing. I did mess up on the name of the mission in my posts. It is, "Ready for Bear" and not "Loaded for Bear". Sorry about that. |

Hi all.
Ive been experiencing this same problem and have deleted ALL the save games except loaded for bear 9 but the same thing still happens,ie game "stalls" loading quaterback . Any other suggestions ? |

hi model59,
I tried playing the "ready for bear" mission through a few more times after my initial problems, hoping "quarterback" would load, but in the end I had to use the "grawunlock" solution posted by pxmm above. Then, I had to start the quarterback level by going under "mission" and selecting it. But after that, the mission seems to be running fine. The only little snag I ran into was that the location of the "profile.xml" file that you have to edit(or replace) to unlock the rest of the missions in Vista was different than the location indicated in the "grawunlock" readme file, and for some strange reason it didn't even show up when I searched the hard disk for it. So if you decide to go this route and edit your profile.xml file, and are running Vista, you may have to try looking in: C:\Users\{Your user folder}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\UbiSoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter\Settings\profiles\graw_profile_default The "grawunlock" readme also refers to a second xml file, but that one didn't exist in my directory, so I didn't have to worry about it. I also made a copy of my original profile.xml file before I did the edits, just in case anything went terribly, horribly wrong. |

Hello, I've tryed almost everything but changing back to XP to get this thing to work but I can't
I'm trying the unlock mission thing, but nothing happens, I've change the values on the profile.xml and I've even replaced the file itself with the one on the .rar with no success the .rar readme says something about two profile.xml files, but I only find one on C:Program Files\UbiSoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter\Settings\profiles\graw_profile_default what am I doing wrong?? any ideas, thanks? System specs: AMD Athlon X2 5600+ 2.8Ghz Dual Core Nvidia 8600 GTS 5GB SDRAM (of course with only 3GB usable) Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bits |
