Well, the original Rainbow Six series was based on the Tom Clancy novel. I don't see why that can't work in reverse for GRAW.

Ahh, you've discovered the classic problem for writers (and even for people in general who want to get job experience) - gotta get published before they'll give you "big" problems. The good news is that lots of novelizations have been poor in the past; the bad news is that as the industry matures they might get better. You'd also need a good idea about military and political issues before writing a novel. Personally, I think that the storylines of Tom Clancy stuff tend to be overly simplistic - not silly, because they do cover a lot of good stuff, and he's one of the writers who isn't portraying the U.S intelligence community and armed forces in an "ambiguous at best" fashion. On the other hand, the "bad nation flavor of the week" tone of much Tom Clancy stuff can't be making us all sorts of friends worldwide. Eh, I'm rambling on. Best of luck with it. My major advice (besides getting some stuff published) is to look at why people do seemingly irrational things because that drives antagonist behavior in much Tom Clancy literature. p.s. I'm not published either, just like to ramble on about stuff

http://www.advancedfictionwriting.com/art/snowflake.phpThis article has lots of ideas in this area. TC and Red Storm, copywrite I would say that this area would be well sown up, TC created Red Storm and then RSE created the games. The only way is to ask both him and Red Storm about your idea. Good luck with this.
