Can you run graw-standalone on one server?
For example copy directory and amend the server.xml config to alter the port? I also have access to several internal and external IP's and NIC's if that helps. |

You can if I recall correctly. See this thread at ghostrecon.net for alot of good server information:
http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=44541 Look for a line: <var name="port" type="number" default="16250" /> change the port number by 10 or so. Also you will need 2 installs on the server so you will need the pathing to be correct in shortcuts and whatnot. By 2 installs, I mean 2 complete independent directories of GRAW2 on the server. The game locks files and many of the files are stored in bundles. You run the risk of having a server crash because of an access violation when both servers need the same files. Better safe than sorry. Also make sure you have a heck of a rig to host both. I would recommend at least a higher end Dual Core - preferably a quad core with 4 GB of RAM. I would also use a program to set CPU affinity and specify 2 different cores (or just different cores if you are using a dual core box) for each server to run on. That will reduce your performance issues related to the game servers struggling to claim resources on the same cores. --------------------------------- What UBI needs is not "Hype" but candor and honest communication. |

cheers, I worked it out few mins after posting.. your right the performance sucks even with 2 CPU's, 4 cores..
I ended up turning it off in the end.. thansk anyway! |
