my res: 1280x1024
just one bump up. can it make that much of diff? during the second mission, you enter a parking building place and my frames just pissed away. from 30-40 to around 5fps. explanations possibly? DOUBLE POST FTW!!!
i get memory lag to hell whenever there are people shooting at me (after only true/false xml tweak). this did not occur before xml tweak. this also happens when i have settings at high with the default true/false settings. who do i blame and what do i do? system specs: Athlon 64 3200+ Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 2x6800GT 2gb Corsair Ram (2x512mb) 550W Antec SLI PSU PC SPECS: AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ (2.51ghz) Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 2 x 6800GT (400 / 1100) 2 gb OCZ Platinum XTC (2x1024mb @ 2-3-2-5) Creative Xfi Xtream Antec TP-II 550W SLI |

Ahhh... 2 x 512 = 1 GIG RAM not 2 Look in your case you're running 6800GT in SLI. You should leave the default settings when it comes to High and Medium but if you actually do have 2GIGs then definitely change all the Texture_Managed lines to True. The only negative affect you should get from this tweak is a LONG load time. Remember that your 2x6800GT SLI cards are still slower than 1 7800GTX not to mention that your also running a AMD 64 3200. Your system to today’s standards is about Midrange especially under this games standard. You should be playing at 1024x768 with the highest Refresh rate your monitor can handle. |

Right click on the XML file and open it as a notepad , Now make the edit's to the file and save it , You will be fine now |

So tweaking these settings will allow us to work around the textures being hardlocked at medium? because ingame i do not even have an option to raise it to high...also is there a way to just turn off completely auto detect?

typo drako...i ment 4x512mb. sorry.
i dont get that long load time...takes me like 15 secs to load game. i do however get the massive memory lag the other people are talking about. strange... o yea. my 3200+ is OCed to 3800+ speeds. i have LCD monitor so 1280x1024 is what i want it run at cause it looks sharper and clearer that way. refreshrate = 60. This game is not optimised for SLI and prob wont be so SLI will not have much of impact on this game. this is why i get same performance as SealedSun. btw. i have settings and textures on high. solution anyone? i got rid of the physx drivers.
i just reinstalled them and the memory lag went away. now im trying to find out why my frames are like 20. PC SPECS: AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ (2.51ghz) Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 2 x 6800GT (400 / 1100) 2 gb OCZ Platinum XTC (2x1024mb @ 2-3-2-5) Creative Xfi Xtream Antec TP-II 550W SLI |

this game is cpu intensive as well as gpu intensive.
i measured cpu usage, and it averaged around 80% with peaks of 98% utilization. the gpu was running oc'ed at 560/1580. i admit i might be low on ram, lol, but maxedd out @1280*1024 with 4xAF and xml settings maxxed, i am averaging 40fps now. sometimes it dips to 25, sometimes goes up 55. hi,just wanted to ask a few questions.
i have 2x512 of ram & was wondering if there's much of a difference between 2x1024 & 4x512. I can't afford to get 2x1024 but i can fill the other 2 slots with 2x512.Also will this impact my OC'n?>> i will make sure i get the EXACT same sticks of OCZ when i do. Lastly,this is my xml settings & am wondering what i can set "true" to get a bit more performance with my 2x512mb's of ram>>THX in advance DEFAULT sys specs are>> 1900xtx dfi ultra-d 2x512 ocz gold (2.2.2.5) opteron 144 <render_config> <d3d_device adapter = "Radeon X1900 Series (Omega 3.8.231)" driver = "ati2dvag.dll" resolution = "1680 1050" windowed = "false" refresh_rate = "60" /> <render_settings> <variable name="aspect_ratio" value="1.7777778"/> <variable name="brightness" value="1"/> <variable name="dynamic_lights" value="true"/> <variable name="effect_quality" value="high"/> <variable name="max_anisotropy" value="16"/> <variable name="post_effect_quality" value="high"/> <variable name="shadow_quality" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_managed_backdrop" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_buildings" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_buildings_low" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_characters" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_default" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_effects" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_ground" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_lightmaps" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_no_lod" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_plants" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_player_vehicles" value="true"/> <variable name="texture_managed_props" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_props_bump" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_props_high" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_silhouettes" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_sky" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_managed_vehicles" value="true"/> <variable name="texture_managed_weapons" value="true"/> <variable name="texture_managed_weapons_third" value="false"/> <variable name="texture_quality" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_backdrop" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_buildings" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_buildings_low" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_characters" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_default" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_effects" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_ground" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_lightmaps" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_no_lod" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_plants" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_player_vehicles" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_props" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_props_bump" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_props_high" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_silhouettes" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_sky" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_vehicles" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_weapons" value="high"/> <variable name="texture_quality_weapons_third" value="high"/> Wanted Games: 1. lol ur in a pickle booga.
u can go 2 gigs however, if u have 4x512mb of ram, your mobo will most likely downclock your ram from DDR400 to DDR333 thus bottlenecking your sexy rig. so just save up for the 2x1024. i have 4x512mb and OC'd my ram up to original speeds again. not as fast but good enuf. but, i get all kinds of stability probs. wish i new this erlier. with your current rig, keep ur XML settings where they are. they arnt gona get better if u mark more true. That's not true. I have 4 x 512 of Ballistix ram and at default is DDR400 @ 2-2-2-5-1t. Then again, it depends on the processor and PSU ______________________________________________________ |
|||

![]() |
indeed it does depend on processor but not PSU (unless u have a really crappy psu).
the supported cores for AMD processors are Toledo and Venice. mr amd here has FX60 so your all set. but booga has an Opti with a Venus core. i dought it supports 4 stix of ram without downclocking. this info brought to you by Asus tech support. blame them if the cores i listed are wrong. here's a good question for ya, know-it-alls:
my rig is REALLY old - pentium 4 - 1.7ghz 1gb or ram radeon 9600xt naturally the demo runs like **** most of the time. setting everything but textures to high (or "on") doesnt bother frame rate too much but textures to medium DOES. naturally. however i was wondering about 2 things: 1- what kind of modification i can do with the XML that can help me (in my case) if any? is there a way that i can edit the setting file in a way that will use my computer better for the game? 2-i will soon change my prossessor to p4 3.2ghz (i hope) and i wonder how will this effect games in general and GRAW in particular? what does GRAW use the cpu for and what is falling on the video card? are the AI calculations are prossessor related? |

I have High on all and almost all on True with my signature (but not clocked), i noticed the fps drop but im going to run it with the spec in signature (2,6GHZ / 500/1200) and ill be back to say how it went. AF is almost unnecessary without AA so i think ill just run x8 or x4.
Btw, anyone got AA working? Does the game support HDR? About tweaking the XML and 1 gb ram, actually you can turn everything from false to true and get big performance boost as I did.
Now I can run GR:AW smoothly at medium texture quality and with 1024x768 res. |

AA does not exist with this game and HDR is on even though i do not see an option for it.
im gona try SLI AA when i get home to see if i can force AA on GRAW. goodbye moderate frames. PC SPECS: AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ (2.51ghz) Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 2 x 6800GT (400 / 1100) 2 gb OCZ Platinum XTC (2x1024mb @ 2-3-2-5) Creative Xfi Xtream Antec TP-II 550W SLI |
