cyclic redundancy check is usually a problem with the rom drive Frown

Maybe clean the eye or something..don`t suppose you have a spare drive to use ?

Can you copy to the harddrive and install from there? I was going to say make an ISO of it but then, I remember that virtual drives and GRAW don't like each other!

What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? If you guys think the Vegas 2 forums are crowded with hate & Negative posts from the PS3 and the few 360 folks, wait until the PC game is launched... Wink2

Well you determined that the problem is with you optical drive...is it SATA or IDE? Have you checked for a firmware update, or popped open the case and removed the drive, cleaned it, and reinstalled it? Sometimes all it takes is a good bump.

If you have only a little knowledge of your computer, I would seek help within your familly, or someone who knows about these things.
Some of the guys here may help but if you make a mistake it could cost you money.

I hate to say this but I have had this on numerous downloads of the single player demo, so it had nothing to do with any rom drive. and I am not the only one, it seems to be an issue with some of us with just graw2.

I had the same problem and it is definitely a DVD specific error and not a problem with your DVD Rom. I exchanged it for a new disk and everything installed fine. It is possible that your exchanged disk was from the same faulty batch and that is why it did not work.

I have the exact same problem identical error message 100%. I am going to take it back and try another one but I just want to say that this is classic UBI problems. I have had problems with every UBI game except the splinter cell series. This has been the case ever since Farcry, and has gotten worse in my opinion.

I am on my 3rd pc since Farcry, all of them built by myself using top shelf parts from reputable establishments. And the drives, video cards, sound card, memory, processor, has made no difference at all. Think about it 3 different processors(2 amd and 1 intel), memory from 3 different manufacturers(kingston, corsair, viking), 3 different drives (lite-on, LG, and plextor), 3 different video cards (again 2 ATI and 1 nvidia), and 3 different sound cards (all creative), also different psu's. And each PC has had an issue with a UBI product.

Now either I am the unluckiest SOB on the planet, or UBI has issues with service and support. Remember my parts were not cheap no-name brands or older used up junk, they were quality parts. And I have been building PC's since 1995, and have become pretty experienced at it. I even managed to make a few dollars doing it over these years. So I just don't buy that it is an issue with my PC, but one with UBI.

As I said I will try another disk because this game was a gift for my son, but I believe this will be the last UBI product I buy. My current system runs Oblivion full tilt with no problems, and runs Bioshock with medium high settings, Crysis at medium high, and many others that either surpass the requirements of GRAW2 or match them. So frankly if I get another email from UBI tech support telling me its my PC, I am going to put it the proper receptacle for such garbage; my recycle bin.

The reality is simple; if your customer base has a percentile of this magnitude, that cannot run your games without jumping through ridiculous amounts of flaming hoops; you are either greedy for the money and care nothing for your customers or your tech support is incompetent. I can run too many other games to believe for one instant that making a game run on more than a few systems reliably is impossible for a company as large and successful as this one.

Think about it guys, when was the last time tech support actually helped you? I can safely say they have never solved a single issue out of 10 submissions by me alone. The only help I have ever gotten has come from fellow gamers, here in the forums and searching the web. Actually if it weren't for these forums UBI would have a heck of a lot less people playing and more wanting their money back.

So thank all you here that help us out, it is greatly appreciated.

Believe me, I don't know much about PC's but I have learn a lot by coming to forums and read on all the problems. I can safely say that I have forgotten more PC knowledge than what the PC Tech support knows or is allowed to help with. I am so sure that they are just running through a scripted page that tells them what to tell the customers... its pathetic really but it won't change.
