This is a poll over at Ghost Recon.net
I thought as long as NoQuarter does not mind I would put it up here too..

Question:
Would you spend more money out on another Graw Game, same Engine, same team, same everything near enough.

Choices:
Yes.
May be, depends on changes.
No. Had enough.

I have voted no main reason I have explained in enough posts why.

Please keep this poll civil and to the point, it will send I hope a possative message to Ubisoft about the future direction of the game.

No - the reason being that it would be the same engine, same developer.

The same question was asked on GR.net and here is my answer is the same here - NO. After Lockdown and Vegas I do not trust UBI to do anything that I would like with a TC property. If they were to take over the GR series, I do not believe they will take the series in a direction I believe they need in order to recapture the spirit of the original series.

Here is my reply from gr.net:

I hate to say it but no. I'm afraid, I'm done with UBI in regards to TC properties. They have changed them too much for my tastes. UBI IMO cannot and will not produce another TC FPS game that will interest me. Their move to the hollywood-esque Halo style gameplay has completely turned me off and I probably won't consider another from them.

Also, no offense to GRIN, I also wouldn't purchase another FPS MP title on their game engine. It would take a complete re-write of it to be a quantum improvement over the current version to make me interested in playing and hosting a MP game using it.

I'm interested in Bionic Commando purely from a single player standpoint so I'm not too terribly concerned about it. However, the design of their current technology would prevent me from purchasing another one of their multiplayer games.

---------------------------------
What UBI needs is not "Hype" but candor and honest communication.

I answered maybe, if GRIN had nothing to do with the title I would be interested. I still think grin should only develop 2d ludo/monopoly versions and not FPS games.

Another engine with more fluid gameplay and I would defiantly say yes!

The same basic game? No. There would have to be considerable changes.

NO.

Vegas, SH4, GRAW1 & 2, SCDA. Lost all confidence and patience with these clowns. Enough is enough.

I answered "Maybe". This answer is only if they make any changes to the game play and also have create extra levels for GRAW. I am sick and tired of playing same levels and some people who have created custom levels most of them are buggy. They should improve in game play and maps.

In just this last year I've been dissappointed by Vegas, GRAW and then GRAW2. GRAW2 had more hope than the other two of being a success but once again the company we rely on for support has left us high and dry and the community has fallen apart as a result. I'm not at all interested in repeating this same process a 4th time.

I am a sucker for FPS games and I have the luxury of almost playing them all for FREE (this has been explained numerous times so please don't ask again.) so I have voted "Maybe".

GRIN couldn't and wouldn't be the developer as their engine can only do so much. the games must have GR written all over it with New Tech graphics, etc, a demo should be offered with ample time before launch, SP players should obtain the same amount of maps that MP players do after launching. SP campaign should work from the beginning and not after 25 patches.

Imagine how much analitically I would be if I had to pay for the games? Blink Wink2

What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? GRAW I & II, Vegas 1 & 2 were throwned to the Lion's den and now FC2 is going to suffer the same fate? How Proud are you UBI?

Same answer as from GR.net.

'I voted 'maybe' but on condition of a few things;

a) Repair GRAW2 very soon.
b) Grin / UBI must actually pay attention to this and thier own forums and put into GR:AW3 (for PC) a lot of the changes that you guys who contribute have suggested.
c) Bring out a complete, polished and finished (PC) game before Blackfoot studios do.

To much to ask? We'll see!'

Not a chance in hell. UBI pranced the pony enough for me on GRAW 1 & 2, and I'm not about to go for another ride.

If they can't figure how successful OGR was and WHY, then they obviously won't listen to me or anyone else.

What they will listen to is money, as they have repeatedly shown, maybe they'll get the message when the cash registers are silent.

No! The lack of respect for the pc community, and no support, no info helped me decide.
I will never spend a dime on ubi or grin no matter what they put out.

Really whats so bad about GRAW 2. Cod 4 has the same problems but the prblems are over looked. I get the same sence of teamwork in cod 4 as in graw 2. Cod 4 players have a mode called hardcore where there is no HUD. Ive complained on a few servers that a real soldier would know how many mags they got. Get this been kicked off4 and banned from 1 cause of that oh yea Realistic. Graw 3 would need better admin support mp support and .50 kills to the head should kill with 1 shot. Ha just remembereed that .50 in cod 4 sucks its week and not accurate. See. Play both and be happy!

No. I paid for GRAW & full price for the incomplete expansion pack GRAW2. Even though GRAW2 took some nice steps forward...GRAW2 tripped on steps like netcode and GUI and wound models, and took giant steps backwards in many other areas. Maybe the support from Ubi/GRIN reflects the interest by the community at this given time...too little too late.

Ghost Recon needs to go back to its roots. Basically. make Ghost Recon with ndw graphics and some cool "new" or added features. Leave everything else that made Ghost Recon great.

While your at it Ubi.....do the same for Rainbow Six. Go back to Ravenshield and update your graphics...maybe some environmental destruction.

Lose the hero story line. Its has removes the "Team" aspect out of the game...and if the campaign is linear...it is no longer Sim...and barely tactical.

Then you will have two winners.

Future direction of the game from UBI?

Abandon ship. Concentrate on making console games please.

Just let this franchise die.
Otherwise all we are getting is increasingly more diluted versions of the original hit.

Start something new. Unburdened by pre-conceptions. Un-restricted by demanded features, and unable to sell by brandname alone but instead intended to sell solely on the quality of the work.

Better yet, don't start something new.

Leave it to the people who actually want to. Then once a hit is made, buy the rights and convert it to console making the inventors all rich and driving new teams on to acheieve the same wealth with their own innovations.

Same game engine same developers.....although I saw some improvements in GRAW2, it also demonstrated the same core fault that GRAW had. The Netcode can't handle Co-op.

The game will never be fit for purpose.
I don't really think the team has the coding skills or even a particularly good grasp of the gameplay people are looking for.
They don't demonstrate having had any perosnal experience of the FPS genre before making this title.
Further to this I don't think their management style has a hold on what they need to do to produce a high standard of software.

Always nice to see someone have a go, I'm glad they made what they did, but no need to flog a dead horse.

No. Had enough.
First off, Ubisoft is not the Antichrist, and GRIN is a good developer... but in trying to keep up with the Jones' and following the current model/trend/rut of recent FPSs' (COD, MOH, Halo, ad nauseam) they have forsaken what drew me to GR in the first place.
Tactical flexibility and immersion.

1 Yes, but.....
First we need more maps for GRAW2, and/or an easy map-modding tool with extra terrain to choose off.
Let the confidence in GARW2 come back, we've seen the bunnyhopping in COD4, we've seen the disaster of Crysis, now its time to get back to the roots.
GRAW3 I would buy if UBI guarantees they will support it for a year at least, and let GRIN free to do what they think is nessesary. We've seen consoles get extra content and thus stray away from the PC version, now let the PC version stray away too.....
Though GRAW was very different from OGR, and it had issues on system demands (a bit too high) Gameplay wise it is the ebst tactical shooter on the market. reste the question which will be first GRAW3 or GB (I hope GB, that would make new tac-shooters obsolete for 5 years like OGR did)
