Has anyone else run into this? - Since the last '360 update, just a few days ago, my progress isn't being 'recorded'; unlocked gadgets are no longer unlocked, missions I've completed aren't available from the Load/ Mission menu.
I'd completed the game on all difficulty levels awhile ago and hadn't played in a few months, so I popped in the game and wanted to load Kinshasa, but it wasn't listed, only the first mission?! So I loaded a SavedGame that was near the end of the last mission, and the game starts giving me the 'Help' pop-ups, like the first time you play the game (Hit BACK to bring up your Objectives, LeftTrigger to Choke / Right Trigger to Kill when grabbing an opponent, what the Trust meters at the bottom of the screen represent, etc.) I brought up the Pause menu then the Load/ Missions menu and the only missions listed were the first one and the mission this SavedGame takes place in, the last mission?!?!? I started a 'New Game', played thru to the end of Shanghai, saved at the start of JBA HQ 2, Quit from the Pause menu, exited out to the Main Menu, then exited to the Dashboard via the Dashboard Guide, then shutdown. When I came back later that day, the initial Single Player menu has 'Continue' greyed out; all the previous symptoms are the same- no missions available from Load/ Missions, loading a SavedGame gets me the 'first time playing' Help popups, previously unlocked gadgets aren't unlocked?!?! So, I deleted the entire game listing from my HDD (not just the individual game saves but the whole SC-DA listing), shutdown, came back 15min later, started the console to the Dashboard (not into a game), and cleared the HDD cache from the System tab, shutdown, waited 15min, started the console to Dashboard, popped in S.C. Now, while I'm playing, if I quit the campaign out to the single player menu, 'Continue' is an available option; I can bring up the Load/ Missions and the missions I'd completed to that point are available and loading from there or from a gamesave, I still have the gadgets I'd unlocked to that point and don't get the Help popups. Its when I exit the game completely that it 'forgets' my progress re: which missions are completed / gadgets unlocked and the Help popups popup even w/ a loaded gamesave. Anyone having this happen to them? Anyone have any ideas? This is a 'new' Premium system I got in 02/08 (console #2 for me) w/ Manuf. Date 01/08 w/ a 175W powersupply so from what I've read it should be the latest 'version' of the console, 'Falcon'. Also, I use 5 different GameSave 'slots' and overwrite each one in turn; this is exactly how I saved my games prior to these issues coming up and never had a problem; Plus, this is a completely 'Fresh' copy of the game for my HDD since I deleted the game listing. I don't have any other issues w/ any of the other games I play, '360 or O.Xbox. I'm gonna submit this info to Xbox Tech Support but I wanted to hit y'all up from help too. Thank You for any help anyone can give. Take it easy. |

I believe I answered this for you on the Xbox forums, but I'll repeat just in case:
Sorry, didn't get to load it up until today. I first refused the update, checked my saves then my missions unlocked and finally loaded the game to check all equipment unlocked - all okay. I restarted and let it update, log back in and load the game then went and checked again. All of my saves and unlocks were still there. Played through past Ellsworth Prison, saving and all, then quit, shutdown and restarted - everything was still there, so it must be something with your console. You might need to do the full system reset (clear the cache and remove all patches) and then try again. Here's how to do it. Access "memory" from the system blade. Highlight the hard drive. Press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?" This will clear the console cache, likely remove any game updates you have downloaded and installed, and could do other things. Perform at your own risk! |
