The fact that Our Sam Fisher was in prison in screens well before the game was out, and had the whole bewaresamfisher.com promotional site was awesome to see when it was up. I remember checking the site a lot to see if we got any clues, and to see what the deal was and why Sam was in prison.

The hype was set for the prison level to be great for Double Agent. But it flopped completely on the next gen version, and was mediocre on the current gen version.

I played the next gen version again last night, so I want to comment on that one. First off...why is Sam not wearing an orange jumpsuit, when he was in the cutscenes? Nevermind the fact that it looked more badass than his wife beater.

The entire level just didn't have the feel of breaking out of jail. The cops fighting with prisoners in the cafeteria was laughable. The whole atmosphere of the 'prison' there just didn't feel the way it should have, for such a big moment in the series. The guy we've grown attached to was in a completely different predicament that we've grown accustomed to. Yet it just felt flat and boring.

I liked how Lambert visited Sam in the current gen version, and how he and Jamie had to work together in some parts to get around the prison. Just small elements like that made it feel so much more real in the current gen version.

Does anyone agree with me? Any other points on how the prison level sucked in the next gen version?

I agree with i hated that level so much and in the current gen version there is coop and you get to play before the riot and the guards check the cells. The way the riot starts is also very dumb just because Jamie sees a guy cheating and starts a fight that doesnt mean he will start a riot and besides the guards would throw tear gas and stop the riot before it gets out of control.

It just didn't really look like a prison or feel like being in one on the next gen, and it felt more like a riot in the current gen because of the fires, sirens, ambient fighting noise, etc. They could've done so much on the 360 with the prison level but they didn't.
