I originally bought D/A for the XBox 360 and hated the storyline along with the unrealistic fakeness in many of the missions. That was when my Ubisoft boycott began. Last month, I was however, given the X Box version of D/A and just finished it 2 nights ago. The only thing it did was anger me more. You have 2 completely separate storylines so now we have no clue what is canon and which game you "HAVE" to throw out the window. Did Sam kill Moss on a boat or in a N.Y. roof top? Same with Emile, did he get killed by Sam in the compound or a N.Y. roof top? Did Enrica die bu a Splinter Cell that Sam murders in the end or does she die by Emile? Which absolute fake prison break did Sam do? Oh I know, maybe he escaped from 2 separate prisons and met Jamie twice but they both just don't remember that. How about Lambert? In the regular XBox version you don't even ever see him. You only save him by clearing his name on a computer. Was Jaimie killed in the compound of N.Y. or on a N.Y. roof top? I cannot believe how bad Ubi screwed this game up! I was told that this game went along with the 360 version but just gave more details when in fact it did not. It was a completely separate game. I also really loved in the end of the XBox version how Sam flat out murdered a fellow Splinter Cell because they shot Enrica. Way to go Ubisoft! Take a guy that fights for everything right and understands the type of work that a Splinter Cell must do, and make him into a cold blooded murderer. I really hate Ubisoft ever since they bought out Tom Clancy's rights. Now that he has no say in this game, or other ones, they are going the way of horrible Hollywood special effects and fakeness whereas Clancy always insisted on realism and that was what made these games great!

I do agree that the canon is very messed up, but isnt this to be expected from a game that has branching storylines? I've never really liked it when games do that, while it does add replay value it seems very pointless because in the end there is only one 'true' series events that happened to stick to the set story, which deems the other events fake. It feels as though you yourself are writing the Splinter Cell story yourself, rather than experiencing a set story. Storyline and Canon aside though, I do think the gameplay of the last gen version of DA was enjoyable. (I am the OP by the way, I just started the topic on the wrong account )

I had Double Agent on PC for a long time. It was fun and a good game, but it was also buggy and wasn't a worthy sequel to Chaos Theory.
But when I got an Xbox 360 I tried to hunt down the last gen version of DA. Eventually I got a firend to get it on ebay for me, the packet and manual is it Spanish (the game is standard UK version so its in English) and I love it every time I play though it. Defiantly a worthy sequel to Chaos Theory.
The thing I love most about it is the level design, there's zillions of places to hang form the ceiling and slit jump. The baddies aren't safe anywhere--on the down side, the two JBA missions have gummy night vision which tends to get irritating after a while. But that is easily over looked.
I would most certainly recommend it.

I'm not picking the OLDGEN version up again until Conviction is out and I know which version is cannon. There are parts to both versions that I like: being a fan of narrative I like the nuiances of the OLDGEN version and the whole trust aspect makes more sense as you have to convince someone who doesn't know you you're still on their side but it starts to trail off at the end IMO and the fact it has a boss battle is ****ing terrible. Whereas I like the 360 version due to the locations and the things you have to do, the whole thing feels more realistic albeit it is bare bones story wise compared to the OLDGEN. If you could mix the two then it would be an amazing game, as it is they're both just ok

The prison level is just so much better than the 360's prison. On the 360 it doesn't even feel like a prison break the way it does on the Xbox. The only thing I wish the 360 has that the Xbox doesn't is the Shanghai mission, but the Money Train mission is just as awesome IMO.

I have been looking for the xbox version of DA for a long time, impossible, I didnt like PC DA at all and prefer the older games, especially the first two which are harder. Unfortunately old gen DA is extremely hard to find
