I've deleted all updates on my 60 gig harddrive, then redownloaded the update with my gamer profile and I've tried to update it without signing in, but my Xbox 360 just freezes at the Xbox logo. I know this has probably been asked a million times before but searching "update" and "patch" didn't give me any clear answers.
--- I want a proper sequel to Chaos Theory that retains the same core gameplay mechanics and storytelling seen in the series pre-Double Agent while adding to the experience with innovative features. I do not want a rehash or clone of Chaos Theory. |

Delete the multiplayer update ONLY from your hard drive, then it should work when you start it up.

First off, I assume you're talking about the update for Chaos Theory on Xbox 360?
When you talk about removing all updates, are you referring to the removal via the system blade storage section where you clear ALL the patches/updates/cache, or just the files for Chaos Theory? One gamer over at the Xbox forums noted that he tried everything mentioned in that thread, but nothing worked until he was scanning through everything on his drive and saw, at the very bottom, an "Unknown" entry. Once he deleted that everything worked perfectly! One thing that you can do, that some have found works, is to d/l the backward compatibility update from Xbox.com's website, burn it to a CD and then, after deleting the CT files, run the CD which installs all the patches to your HDD so that when you put any BC game in, it doesn't have to d/l the patch from Live. You may also want to remove all previous patches and cached files by this method: Access "memory" from the system blades. Highlight the hard drive. Press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?" This will clear the console cache, likely remove any game updates you have downloaded and installed, and could do other things. Perform at your own risk! Then: On the Dashboard, navigate to System -> Memory -> Hard Drive -> Games -> Splinter Cell-CT and (if you have it) Splinter Cell-CT vs. Press the (Y) button on the selected file(s). Press the (A) button to delete and confirm the deletion. Do this for all CT files! Yes, it will also delete all d/l and saves, but is often necessary to get the entire game to work properly. The instructions to get and create the Disc can be found HERE. Once the Disc is created, disconnect your 360 from the internet, run the disc and follow the prompts to install it. Once completed, and CT is updated, re-connect the internet and turn the 360 on, run CT and all should be well! |

Well, I deleted my data for multiplayer and it worked. I had to go through spy training again but nothing too bad.
