Supposedly this version of the story had less gaps but the BIGGEST one I found was the 'romance' between Fisher and Enrica. Perhaps it was the decisions I made that caused this but there is a serious gap as to how Enrica and Sam went from acquaintances to infatuation between them, you only interacted with each other in Money Train and Cozumel, the only chemistry between them was the occasional compliments they made ('I'm impressed', not really a compliment but 'Let me get on top of you').
In New York she was more of an ally, as a result I was pretty confused when Sam yelled 'no' when she died, yet simply said 'Sorry old friend' if you chose to kill Lambert, which brings up the mediocre way Lambert's fate was sealed, if you killed him your actions are simply mentioned and quickly brushed off, whether you killed him or let him live he is simply dropped and never mentioned again which was pretty disappointing seeing as how Lambert had been a major character for the last 3 games. Jamie only had a role in the prison break, after which you never see, or hear about him again until New York, and if you decide to interrogate him he talks as if you 2 have had a strong friendship after the prison break. Moss, the only times I ever got to know about him were those 2 times I interrogated him (HQ 2 and New York). Perhaps it was the decisions I made that prevented me from knowing anything else, I'll replay the game again too see if I missed anything. As for Emile I suppose there was some pretty good conversations between Sam and him, however most of them were simply Emile barking orders at you. But I must say his interrogation was very thought provoking. However the character development between Sam and Williams/Lambert was pretty good. And last but not least the trust system is the most gimmicky thing in a gaming next to forced and unnecessary waggling in Wii games, really, I can kill 2000+ people, prevent 2 Mercury bombs from being detonated, Kill Hisham, Kill Lambert, steal important information from the JBA yet all this can be pardoned by getting on a computer. And what the hell happened to the Third Echelon team? Lambert is the only one present in the first level playing the part of adviser and technician with Grim and a new character since that's the way the past 3 games had been. The game felt too much like an expansion pack of Chaos Theory rather than a full blown sequel, virtually no new moves have been added(grabbing a character with your back to a wall) or made a reappearance (shooting from corners). And all of the missions were closed in, I would've really liked to see some outdoor levels to prevent the gameplay from getting stale. I haven't played the current-gen version of DA yet but judging from the vids I've seen of it the current-gen version seems to be better in both story and gameplay, yes the concealment system has been mutilated and some of the game mechanics noobified but still. I can't comment on the multiplayer for either since current-gen DA is in it's and last-gen DA is all but dead. |

So you played the regular Xbox version of the game? You've already played the better of the two versions then. Don't waste your money on the "next-gen" version. There are fewer levels, (no money train) fewer cutscenes and even less interaction with the so-called main characters.

If you haven't played both, why are you saying the last one isn't the better version? How do you know that if you haven't even played the next one?
Do yourself a favor, don't waste forty bucks and just take our word for it. Yes it is the better version. "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com |

Well I did say JUDGING FROM THE VIDS. |

Judging a game from videos is judging a book by its cover, my friend. Hardly scratches the surface of what's actually going on.
You can count on videos to most always only show the good parts, and not include the boring parts, the slow parts, and the parts that you skip and go to the bathroom during. It's a mediocre game, fun to play, but not better than the past version.
