While playing the 360 version of DA, I recently came across another retinal scanner in the JBA compound other than the ones used to get into the interrogation room and elevator shaft. It is located at the bottom of the stairwell that has the voice activated lock to enter the restricted zone.

Anyway, I've used Jamie's, Enrica's, Stanley's, and even my own retinas to try and open it, but it continues to give me an access denied message.

I may have an idea where it leads to as well. When on the final JBA level you enter the room that has the bomb in it, if you look on your 3D map it shows a narrow corridor adjacent to the main room that could potentially be directly lined up with this secret retinal locked door-therefore creating another route to take to enter the final room.

So if anyone has an idea of what I'm talking about, it would be nice to know any information. And if this topic has already been brought up, I'm sorry, but I just joined this forum today. Thanks!

If you move to the bottom of the steps near the scanner and look up them, you should recognize the location as where you first entered the compound on JBA HQ 1. It's the entry/exit door to JBA HQ and can't be opened!

***SOFT SPOILERS***

Shanghai's Double Agent lacked those off-the-path rooms.

I loved in the original game, being able to solve the obstacle course puzzle in the training mission and talk to Grim, and the UFO Sightings room in the CIA level.

Warrior is right. There are two of those doors in the whole compound, which can only be accessed by Carson Moss and Emile. The first is the door mentioned, the entrance to the compound, and the second is to the interrogation room. Which is why you can't escape the compound, and also for the purpose of preventing the gamer from being able to go grab his or her goggles and weapons, go back to the room and use thermal vision to make sure that Lambert is still living, or even shoot him with your weapon if you're just like that. Oh yeah, I forgot that is where I entered.

But why would the level designers put a retinal scanner lock on the entrance instead of just making a door that cannot be opened?

Story-wise, they did it because Emile will not allow anyone to leave the compound due to the need to remain unknown.

They can't have cell phones, and in an e-mail it will explain that Dayton is the designated person to go get groceries on like a six-month basis. I think it's something like that anyway, haven't read it in awhile.

Gameplay-wise, who knows. They did a lot of stuff like that for who knows why.

No cheats here...

If by level 8 you mean JBA HQ 3, you're probably having trouble with Massoud's email decryption?

Basically enter the following in the 'vertical' sides or 'column', then just tap away at the remaining two sides until they all light up:

(Central Column)
000 110
001 111

010 000
011 001

100 010
101 011

110 100
111 101
