Search for the video walk-through of Splinter Cell 1 made by a guy called The Message. It's about 2 hours 20 minutes long. This guy is the best SC-player ever and you'll be truly amazed at the things he does in this video, things you'd never think possible. I can't remember where I downloaded it from, but I guess you'll find it doing some searching on the web. Good luck!

It would appear that his website is no longer available, nor the link to where his video was (http://www.themsg.com/personal/splintercell.html).

I couldn't find it with a quick search, but if someone knows where I can upload it (single file about 2gb) let me know and I'll post it up for you.

Sorry to double post, just wanted to be sure you got this if you have email notification on.

I found scworld's videos, which are similar to themsg/DanielHac's methods and quite good.

You can find them HERE.

And his original post on these forums regarding his videos can be found HERE.

I'm thinking on running SCPT too.

For the Swag-contest, I'll be tallying some stats of my SC1 walkthroughs Smile

His website has been down for quite some time now, I believe. I remembered where I downloaded the video from, a site called www.techrepublic.com. However, after searching there it appears that The Message's video is no longer available unfortunately.

Ha! Got it. I found TheMessage's base website and the file that has links to sites where you can get his 1.2gb video. You can find it HERE.

Some of his download links don't work, like the ZDnet one, but these do:

Fileshack

Download.com

Fileplanet

Gamespot (requires account login to download).

Nice work WarriorOfLight, you're a good man!

@scworld:
I've watched a few of your videos. No doubt, you're an excellent player. Still, you're not quite in The Message's league in my opinion. A couple of examples that come to mind:

The start of Defense Ministry: Your route is more traditional and takes a bit longer than The M's (you know, the way he drops down to that other balcony and runs straight into the room, sneaking out as soon as the guard comes through the door.)

Embassy 2: When the soldiers are destroying computers you knock out all of them whereas he sneaks through and gathers the crucial amiricium intelligence without them knowing he's there.

I liked some of your work in CIA though, the way you act in the generator room is wonderful. Also, nice work in the server room, I always have trouble being completely stealthy there.

Stinks that youtube doesn't have downloadable links though.

You can find some .flv viewers around the 'net that also allow you to download them from sites that do that. One is "GLM FLV Player" I found on techrepublic.com, it's a little quirky but works well.

Yeah that's a negative in that it's pretty much stream only, but I like how Austin divided his video up by level.

I did it like that too, but it's a bug actually. And I believe I saw TheMSG's version before I decided how to do that part, and didn't want to copy it.

I see, but what is actually the bug? Is it the fact that they don't react to the one light being shot out? It struck me as a little bit odd when I first saw it. I've done it this way too (after seeing TheMSG do it) and it was a quick and fun way of going about it. Of course, if it's only doable because of a bug, not so much fun.

TheMsg is probably the best sc-player i have ever seen, but i still don't like few things in his gameplay.

- He is too much into speed. I think it looks stupid in Splinter Cell, when dude is running all the time. Even if it's stealthy running.
- He makes everything possible to avoid knock outs and kills. For example he think getting spotted is better way than knocking out guard stealthy way.
- He use bugs. Even that is allowed, i think that still sucks. For example he didn't have to knock out Grinko's driver and three enemies in Chinese Embassy which are breaking computers.

Also, here's two things what i want to comment in his job.

- The bullet that he shoot in Police Station, is wasted ammo. You don't have to shoot skylights to avoid loosing health. I was really amazed, that he didn't realize that. I thought he has tested everything in the game. But i was wrong
- He actually kills 2 enemies in the game, and shoot much more bullets than 6. He thought he knocked out Grinko. That is bull****. Some characters can be killed only with a hit or for example sticky shocker. Those characters are weaker than others. For example Grinko, Coldeboeuf, Coen, Wilkes, Grimsdottir...

Ok, i'm jelous. I hate him, even he is same time my "idol". I just don't like that he made perfect walkthrough. You just can't beat that, and that's why i hate him.

Thank you.

Edit: Typo
