You've obviously never played splinter cell competitively. Sure, the "speed cam" has some influence on gameplay but thats if you even choose to equip the sticky cam. And even if you do, it takes skill to pull off a speed cam. I wouldn't say that it has much influence on the gameplay at all really.

Honestly, these merc's weren't the best and even with an xbox controller should be able to kill spies, but I gotta say that the person who recorded was pretty skilled. And a skilled spy always makes a merc look like trash.

You're wrong. I probably know more about this game than you'll ever do.

Sticky cams are almost a must-have for spies on PC but looking at these videos makes me think they're overpowered on Xbox (and probably PS2 too). Speed cams succeed too often. Maybe it's because the horrible mercs didn't know how to turn on their gasmasks but I'm pretty sure it's because of the controls. You simply have to press too many buttons on a controller to turn on the gasmask. And another thing that the controls on the consoles have ruined is the use of the rifle. Sniping on a controller just sucks compared to how well it works with a mouse and a keyboard.

All in all these videos just seem to show a bunch of people who've played this game for less than a year and still makes a lot of mistakes. Skilled players? - nah, go look somewhere else.

I don't mean to start a platform war or anything, just so you know. I'm only giving my opinion.

That's a little uncalled for, don't you think? PC players have it relatively easy in that a lot of the controls and equipment can be bound to a single button. Switching the mask on is a simple as pressing the right button, where as on Xbox, you have to make sure it's selected and then squeeze the appropriate trigger.

Also, you guys are able to turn a lot faster than we are, even with quick turn. Your spies can stand still and perform a roll, where as we have to have forward momentum.

This whole PC vs Console stuff is old and boring. It won't ever matter because we can't properly prove who is better or what takes more skill. I do know that we've had a couple of our xbox guys play on PC and they didn't get handled like you guys expected them too.

Before you say that we can use the controller on the pc, remember that it's still not the same and still leaves us at a disadvantage. So, please, enjoy the videos for what they are. If you can't do that, then please, don't post in this thread anymore.

My main point is that these videos shows that the controls on the consoles have got too much influence on the gameplay. I feel sorry for you because you have only tried to play CT SvM the way you have.

PC have got to equip the gasmask too before pressing the right mouse button but that can be done quickly since you only have to press a single button to do it. We also can't roll while standing still. Who told you that we can?

You can't excuse everything with the controls though. Why did you not go to heal when you got poisoned on Factory? And why did the merc not turn on his gasmask before you cammed him in Corridor C? - he had plenty of time to do it. And what the heck were they, the mercs, doing while you and your mate hacked the two objectives in Machine Room? If you guys have all played for five years or more and call yourselves skilled then I'm speechless.

By the way, I would only tell you to use a controller for your PC if you were one of those people who claim that it's the best way to control. And if you decided to try out the PC version of the game with a controller or a keyboard and a mouse like some other Xbox players did it wouldn't show anything. The PC community is nowhere near what it used to be. You can hardly call it a community anymore. You would need to contact a special group people personally, if anything.

Well said, Niar-Guy. I was going to post something similar but I figured if I waited long enough someone would do it more eloquently.

I didn't go heal because my teammate was near me on the ground. If I save him I save myself. I wasn't aware that trying to save your teammate in a team game was a bad thing.

As for the merc, I can't speak for him. I'm not him.

While my teammate and I were taking Machine Room, a merc tried to stop my teammate. The merc killed himself.

I'd love to see some of your gameplay videos. Please, upload them and show us how PC players play better than us.

Thanks, lochang, I thought someone had to do it.

Starkey, did you honestly think you'd have a chance of saving your mate? The merc was already tazed and you were not even equipped with flashbangs. And even when he killed your mate you continued your kamikaze attack on him and failed. CT SvM is not about being a hero. And don't even get me started talking about all the other mistakes you and the mercs make in this and the other videos.

You might not be able to tell why the mercs played like they did but they obviously had no clue what they were doing. It's funny how DACHAMPIZHERRE, one of the mercs, came here on this forum some time ago and bragged about him and his friends' incredible skills in this game. Yet they play like they've broken their thumbs and have got no such thing as a tactical sense.

I didn't directly say that PC players are better than console players but I stand by what I expressed here on this forum. Let me quote myself:

Due to my PC specs I have not recorded any videos of myself playing. Insted, compare your own Museum video to this guy's. Keep in mind that it's about three years old. It's not some fancy edited show off video that literally would make you and your friends look like trash, no, it's (almost) a full spy round like yours.

Am I rude? - perhaps. But hey, I wasn't the one who led the discussion this way. I do think that people should be praised when they deserve it but at the same time I think they shouldn't be when they don't.
