proly been asked 100s of times but just bought this playing on 360 with a friend and both got the updates and trying to connect to each others games just says host ended session. cant find any gomes on a search too any1 shed any light on the situation.

Are you playing via system link or online?

Are you trying to play the Co-op missions or th Versus MP?

I've never had any problems with playing Co-op on my 360, as long as I was connecting to another 360. The symptom you are describing, usually, only occurs when connecting a 360 to an Xbox1.

Be sure to run the network test from your 360's system blade and make sure it shows that you have an 'open' NAT, as that can affect connectivity between certain games.

thats the complicated part and you have to find the instructions to your router and look wherever it says the NAT stuff.
