UBISOFT dont feel bad if the games multiplayer is not really working at the moment. Why would I say such a thing. Easy. Because your single player mode Campaign is without a doubt in my 15 years of gaming or 21 years of computing the very Best I have ever seen or played. Myself and thousands of other are nailed to our screens as we follow this squad of hells highway Troopers. Not only is the graphics excellent but the Story line is totaly engrossing and with severe heart wrenching moments, You understand early on as you fight as Matt Baker that war is takng a terribe toll on this young man. The game sucks you in as a player and you just cant stop playing. What makes the game even better is because the story line is based upon a real life senario. Yes some of us have heard of a Bridge to far, that cost the British to have their very brave 1st airborne division virtually wiped out as no one could get their fast enough. Not to mention Montgomerys Terrible mistake. Why play the multiplayer part when the single player is so great. It use to be that the single player games wee terrible while the multi was excelent. Well things have chage alot. If people do nothing else with this game but play the single player, they will have got their money back 10 fold. Not only do they get a very powerfull, heart pounding game but also a inside look into historys most terrible Mistake. Dropping over 10,000 partroopers right next to 2 SS Panzer Divisions was a terrible mistake. The worse part is that Monti was made aware of these Tank Divisions a few days before the attack, but he just brushed the info away, either that or he was plain stupid. No Airborne Div. can stand up to a Armor division let alone 2 Divisons. Hells Highway portrays as close as you can get. putting this simply is that its one of the BEST single player wargames EVER. Well done UBI Soft and Gearbox.

Well said, Bunny!
My Dad jumped at Normandy with the 82nd. Airborne. I served during the Cold War in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division 2/33 AR from April 1972 to August 1974. I've also been gaming for over 10 years and this one is one of the best. CoD4 edges HH out slightly on playability, i.e. you can go prone in CoD4. I just got Hells Highway myself, simply breathtaking!

This is for sure the funnest and deepest WWII shooter I have ever played. To top it all off, it brings everything that was great about the previous Brothers in Arms games and put it in this 1 game along with many enhanced features. Thanks Gearbox

Additionally, the weapons are perfect now. The silly, way out of perportion gun sway of RTH 30 and EiB are gone. One can now hit what he's aiming at. It's still not always a 1 shot kill unless you get a head shot, and that is good. You should have to work for your kills and be patient while aiming.

I agree with what you just said, ThumperDFN. the weapon sway looked good at first sight, but now it's not included, i dont seem to miss it. And as far as aiming is concerned. you realy have to aim at what you're trying to kill.something call historicly accurate is at hand here... |

Its a good, fun, game. However, its short. I've already beaten the single player on normal, about a week after I got it. On Realistic(Or whatever the hardest setting is) I've beaten about 3/4s of it, but I still remember most of the locations and what I did the first time...
I'm playing COD:WAW too, and its just as pretty, plays as good (Even if you have no control over your allies) and also has a great multiplayer so I can spread my gaming around. I stopped playing the campaign last night so I could save some of it for later. I wasnt dissapointed at all with the multi, unlike Hells Highway... |

The SP campaign is really great, very immersive.

`The greatest wargame ever?` in 15 years of gaming? hahhahheehehhoho!
Really? You`re not joking? You must`ve played the most basic of games ever then cos even EIB beats it easily except for graphics. I won`t even start on AI which you must be blind not to notice. But I recognise that this is a `feel good` fantasy thread so i`ll stop now. |

He probably started gaming with DOOM, like I did in 1993. Why are you being a jerk about someone enjoying the game? Go away, kid! You bother me! "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - George Orwell . |

Although I cant comment about the multi play of HH i Stand by my statement its the best single play ever made. I tried World at Wars Coop. admittidly it was fun but fighting ZOMBIES please dont talk about realism, at least not in the coop mode of cod5. It was fun though.

Yes 15 years of gaming and 20 years total, so please dont tell me i dont know a good game. Ever hear of the "Pet" computer or "Sol" technoligys computer. "Sol" especially was a nightmare it came as a kit for 3000 dollars and all u got was the mother board and all the parts. plus a blue print, and I do mean a real blue print. Plus you got 16k of memory something unheard of then and one game of startrek. Those were the days. But the computer that opened the fllod gates was the TRS# by Radio Schack, then came the real breakthrough The Commodore 64. Although the Apple 2 was out it cost a lot but had very poor grahics. It was the commodore that open the flood gates for people to buy.
Just a little history lesson on home computers. Ed SteelBunny |

Hi All!
I agree to a certain extent. I mean I love the game, but my two real concerns are the loss of sights in the highest difficulty settings and the lack of aggression in the AI. I'm hoping for a patch that addresses these problems, but I'm far from disappointed with the game. The one thing I did do was to turn off the 'red' screen. It was a little distracting and it , at least to me, made it a better game. I personally am not a MP player and I know for a fact I'm not the only one. I don't want to put up with some of the things I've heard about messages being sent back and forth. I did check it out in this game just to see what the difference was in the graphics. I can see what the complaint is. As to the big deal about being able to shoot an MG 42 from the hip so to speak. I look at it as pay back from having super nazis in MOH Airborne who are doing the same thing. by the way, a friend of mine has COD5 and says its way to short, he finished it in 3 hours. He says the AI aren't great in it either. I wonder why the tanks weren't better come to think about it, but then they're terrible in MOHA as well, maybe something about the Unreal Engine? |
