Okay look at call of duty series multiplayer, right? Then mix that multiplayer with Bia. In essence why not have when you or 32 players load onto the server they have classes to choose from, slots available for different types of group and in this menu you choose the type of class plus their assigned weapon for instance the Kar 98k for medic, and is equiped with medic packs and the Kar 98k with a certain amount of ammo say 12 clips with 5 rounds in each clip
or more.. So Instead of having AI for online squads, why not make them players, people who can actually play on a server. Implement the whole squad based combat, giving only the squad leaders (Which would be playable slots) the option to show where to attack and suppress and thus forth. If you do all of this I bet many people will purchase this game due to realism. Step away from the whole "baker" story when in multi player. Make multi player the best WW2 multi player around and it will sell I bet anything on it. Any questions if you actually are doing this or if you want to learn more.

you forgot about the stg44 for support and fallschirmjagergewehr for assault. plus the machine pistol and lugers for officers all for germans side. and the colt m1911 for americans. also forgot bazooka for both sides and panzerfaust for germans Hammer so many weapons too little harddrive space.

Now, this may sound harsh (forgive me), but I really think doing that would ruin the game. Completely.

Nobody would listen to the squad leader, unless you were in some sort of ultra tight-knit clan. Public servers would get roasted with people who just want a few quick kills. I wish it could work, believe me, but it won't.

I would be happy though, if they did input some sort of normal 32 player Search and Destroy sort of thing, with no AI. Just to have both styles of gameplay available. (Sometimes I really just wanna kill something and not have to worry about teamwork. Wink2 )

...Then the whole medic thing, we've fought this battle before. Roll Eyes

The whole idea of "classes" isn't suited for this game, IMO. It just doesn't seem right when you have one team with all autos and maybe one rifle, when the game is supposed to be about realism and tactics. I love the AI system we have now, and the AI is probably light years better now. So just wait and see what happens. We'll find out soon enough.

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr they could have real player squads as an addition instead of changing it completly so both sides are happy, and also make a way to reward people within squads for team work and following orders, to encourage people to follow orders, have like some sorta of competition between squads on the same side and which ever one has the highest rating of teamwork will get a little boost towards a new rank/promotion or something reasonable if they dont have ranks or promotions.

EDIT: I've just found this. BIA: HH Official Site where it says "Next-Gen Multiplayer: Team up with real squad-mates to win intense on-line battles" implying that its real squadmates rather than AI.

But how would they be able to track if you follow commands to give you credit for it? Would the leader point and make that yellow order ring thing and the squad has to go to it like with the AI would? I still don't think people will follow it even if there is a reward for doing it. People don't listen to people they don't know, maybe if it was just their friends but even then they might not listen.

when a captain or whoever is leading the squad issues a command the men in the squad would see a marker similar to the one seen by the person issuing the command and there would also be a marker on the players compasses too, and a way to track teamwork has been done before, but to explain how i would do it would be to have an invisible vicinity around the area that the men are told to go, and if the player goes to that spot they get teamwork points or something, same that goes for suppressing and fireing on the ordered position where as if the player shoots and suppresses the enemy in which the leader ordered they would get points for that also. Teamwork would be a good way to settle ties in roundbased matches...say both teams win 2 matches each at the end or something teamwork could decide the winner. thats just an idea though, teamwork could reward anything that you could possibly think of.

Most people would still not listen to the leader though.

Why can't they have 32 player (Or maybe 16), ALL of them in charge of an AI squad, and put it on a large map. A map the size of COD United Offensive MP Base mode should be just about right.

That way instead of having half the people happy playing one mode, and the other half playing their way, both can be exstatic playing the same way.

You can still do classes to0. Say each side gets four squads (16 players.) Depending on the map, one or two players from each team could command an MG, Mortar, or maybe even a tank instead of a reqular infantry squad. That would make for some really intresting play.

They probably will(or at least should) make different game types that include just real players and other games with AI players included.

yea, it should have run and gun game types for the run and gun players, tactical game types for the tactical players and then tactical teamwork game types for teh people who want to have real people for the AI working in teams under the squad leaders.

8 to 16 players on each team
Each player leading one or two teams
each team would be 1 to 3 AI soldiers depending on which team type: Sniper, Machinegun team, Fire team, Assault team or Bazooka team.

then the maps should also be quite big.
and with an objektive to attack or defend from the other team.

That would be great, you still get lots of players, but you also get to command a AI team that would actually follow your orders (as opposed to other human players). Would make for some pretty large and spectacular battles, which still require some good tactics and teamwork to win.

Now Ubisoft is claiming "dozens" of players on each side, with the result "combining all the intensity and accessibility of deathmatch with the squad-based gameplay that helped make Brothers In Arms famous.

Taken from the website..

Dude, you've been posting this all over the place. At least 3 different threads on this site, plus the Xbox forums. Thing is though, you've got out-dated information here. They've been saying this "dozens of players" meme since April of 2006 when the game was first announced. Since then, we've heard Randy Pitchford say that MP would be about 20 or so players.

Just FYI.
