Hey Guys, my first post and wanted to say I love the franchise. You guys definitely took first place as far as single player went in my mind amongst all the others.

That being said, one major reason it never really caught on with the die hard community / modders was the absence of multiplayer for leagues and large groups.

Let me lay out the landscape for you: Every single person who plays in a COD2 / Mohaa / UO clan is at this very instant faced with having to switch to a game like COD4 (non ww2 and hated company). MOH A pretty much was an okay single player with a HORRIBLE attempt at multiplayer. No clans really can get behind it, even if they wanted to.

I dont know what the overall plans are for this game, but for large clans like ours (over 80+ people) multiplayer is the largest draw. I am sure it isnt easy to add a strong MP component to a game but if this game includes the following, you are pretty much a shoe-in to take over the ww2 franchise:

- Dedicated servers (able to be hosted by clan bought / leased servers)

- Anti-Cheat: Really important for gameplay and league play

- MP Content / Gametypes: Objective gametypes are the most important. CTF, Co-op, etc are all icing on the cake. A campaign gametype would be original and I dont think ever done before.

-Mod-ability: For a game to survive a long time, the modders need to be able to create maps, content, mods (realism, tweaks, etc). If it wasnt for the modders, we would all be playing tiger woods golf online 6 months after COD2 was released... (I know, I know, we are an "over 30" clan and are old and grumpy)

-Http redirects and other small additions to the MP community are huge.

Lastly, you need to be able to have 32 (min) players per server and all to run smooth on a strong box... if you are able to pull that all off with your awesome destructible environments and SP gameplay, mark my words, you will take over this franchise. After so many let downs by so many companies, we are rooting for a new one and trying like hell not to support the ones that lied to us and screwed us over in the past.

I hope this was in some way helpful and we will all be watching with our fingers crossed.

Clap Agree Thumbs Up bow

What is left to say. Veryhappy I couldn't agree more on ANY of your posts NewYawk. I always liked 30/20+ people in clans (what we call Units in TR). They mainly have the right idea's and want to work to accomplish what they are after. I can only clap and whatever other smiley I put up there Wink2

The way to do it is try to work up the ladder. We need to do everything to get M1 Maniac to read this lovely writing, and he needs to get an admin and so on and so on. That way, who knows, maybe not immediatly, but in a patch. Lets all hope and pray. Wink2

I gotta second the anti-cheat as a punkbuster is SORELY lacking from the current games.

Are you reading this BBFR Pin-Pin?

As a member of the Top Brass of one of the grandaddy TR clans out there, the 1stSF/SS, I echo New Yawk's sentiments.

If the developers are reading this, please take note that most, if not all, WW2 based clans are looking to make a move away from COD2. While COD4 is sometimes tossed around, it is not WW2 and based on the demo, feels like COD2 with a modern warfare mod. There is an opportunity to fill the gap on the MP for WW2 gamers.

I would also add that BIA has always been a favorite among many of our clan members but only on SP. Often we would lament that it did not support a dedicated server setup with 32 or more slots. Currently, we are running COD2 with 54 slots, 16 which are private slots. This kind of size would be ideal for larger clans like our own that has a huge public following.

The 82ndAB is another large TR WW2 based clan. I don't know if they are moving to a new game but they also have 2 servers running 24/7 and have a huge public following.

So, my request is this on top of everything else that New Yawk has mentioned; please continue to support MP after the game is released with updates (for example, please increase the server size with a patch); support for large maps (COD2 could only support small maps at first); mod and mapping tools; cvars to turn on or off stock features, like suppression icons, etc.

Our WRM mod, which we are very proud of, supports healing, weapon jams and such. It would be great if that was supported out of the box but if not, that it is easy to add.

Again, seize the opportunity Gearbox - it is yours for the taking.

He doesn't really mean healing. He means you bleed once you've been shot, and you can bandage the wounds. You can't regain your health. Some mods we support medics though, that do have the ability to fix you.

I agree with all of you, sespaicly when it comes to MP. Games these days need to have a minimum of 32 players in a server, to be honest that is what makes PC games to me better than consoles. Consoles seem to be limited to the number of 16 wich is very anoying, dont get me wrong it is great for tactics games, but when it comes to WW2 In my mind I see mass battles with lotts of carnage and chaos.
Personaly thebest WW2 multyplayer game i ever played was BF1942. But the large maps can be a turn off to many players. I think the game that appeled to both small maps adn large maps players was COD UO ( Call of Duty United Offensive ). Limited tanks along with close qaurter street fights was amazing. I jsut hope that the MP in BIA HH has come to realize that the bar the online communities set is so high these days, they take time to look at our ideas. In the long run a game will only surive if the online MP community is treated to a great experiance.

1.Gebirgsjaeger Division [1.GJgr] completely agree with this thread. Lets all hope they listen and the the delays in release of the game is due to them "getting it right the first time".

also i think it would be great if they added a feature to multiplayer like battlefield where you can view your stats and get ranks.
