I got the game a couple days back, on the 7th. I installed it, and played a few chapters, but i get a constant crash on the checkpoint after taking out the MG gunner from the church. I wonder if it's just me or anybody else also having crashes on the game. I am actually running the game with a macpro (with 8800GT and 1GB ram) on bootcamp, but I don't think that will causes crashes, I have played games before, and they all run perfectly.

I have the same problem. Crash right in the Loading-Screen after taking out the MG-Gunner. But my game also crashes randomly in other Loading-Screens.

some Sys-Specs:

Intel Pentium D 3,0 GHz
GeForce 9800GTX
4096 MB DDR2
Realtek Onboard Soundchip

Windows XP SP2

(If you need to know more about my system just ask)

There have been people saying the game needs the latest drivers, but that won't work for me either.

Same over here...
I did all they tell you to do in the BiA-HH-Tech-Forum (those standards like update drivers and so on)

I've found you can get through this by playing up to the point it normally crashes out, escaping out to the options screen and lowering the screen resolution to 800x600, resume, go past the point that it crashes, and then bump the screen resolution back up again.
It seems to be working and I'm slowly making progress.
Hope this helps someone else too as otherwise, it's a great game.

Chris

yep...me too...total system chrash in the loading screen after taking out the MG gunner in the church tower. Im getting a blinking black screen and only way to get computer up and running again is to do a hard boot. Im also getting weird flashing in graphics. Bushes and fences and such are sometimes blinking in weird colors.

But those arent even the worst. To me worst is this...quote from the official game features from ubisoft "Hit the dirt and get prone, rip grenades from your chest and hurl them at your enemies." Well there is no such function as going prone. Instead there is this clumsy "dig in" command. Thats what we get when all games are optimized for consoles instead of PC. Last time I ever buy a game from Ubisoft

mate in the system specs it states that XP SP3, not saying that might help but it might be worth a try to upgrade to SP3?.
And as for having the latest drivers lol load of b/s the game works better for me on my ATI 8.4 driver than the newest one so if trying an older driver version might help also??.

If the game crashed it is in my opinion the fault of your pc not the games, there is a lot of people who can play this game without any problems.

One of the most important things is to ensure that you have the very latest graphics drivers. I was having a problem with stuttering gameplay, and my drivers were only two months old. Then I checked with nVidia site and new drivers were released last month(Sept), I installed them, and now no problems. You might want to check your Realtek drivers too.
Good Luck!

Hi all and thanks for your efforts...
It has nothing to do with my SP, I just updated to SP 3 in the next hour Wink

What Crawdoch wrote is right! Drop the resolution to 800x600, load the next level, raise it up again. Many thanks for this one...

I'm done with this, just got a a ps3 version last week and it was a gr8 game.

Captain quarry was right, most the ubi games are optimized for consoles... I wish some day the piracy would put an end, and developers will keep making good pc games.

I also had the same problem as the first guy. Dropping the resolution did not help. However, disabling PhysX did the trick. I've had no crashes or any other problems at all since doing that. (To disable PhysX, open the nVidia PhysX properties dialog, and under settings tick "no acceleration.")

You all are lucky, at least you can play to a certain point! I get the splash screen when I start the game, then nothing, it just freezes right there. I have to crtl-alt-del just to get rid of it. I have the latest drivers for my card, ATI-1650, which the specs say is a good card to run, I have SP-3, plenty of memory. No idea what the problem is on my end. And technical suppport, ahh, what a lovely group of folks Smash

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, crashes after the tower. It took me 2 days of trying to fix it before I could even get that far(and I have tried EVERYTHING), funny thing is I was getting the same type of problems with one of Ubi's other games, assassins creed, all my other pc games run fine (non-ubi) Angry.

Both times I have called tech support and both times, all they want to do is look at dxdiag and then blame it on the driver for my sound card and tell me to call asus, biggest bunch of morons, I finally got someone trying to help me today so hopefully both games will be fixed, otherwise I'm asking for a complete refund.
