Supported OS: Windows XP SP3/Windows Vista SP1 (only)

The specs clearly state SP3 only, whether it will work on SP2 is yet to be seen.

System Requirements
Recommended:

Supported OS: Windows XP SP3/Windows Vista SP1 (only)

Processor: 2.6 GHz dual-core (3 GHz for Intel Pentium D 925)

Memory: 1 GB (2 GB Recommended)

Graphics: 128 MB DirectX 9.0c compliant, Shader 3.0–enabled (see supported list*)

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0

Sound: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant

Hard Drive: 8 GB free hard disk space

DVD-ROM: 4x dual-layer drive

Multiplay: Broadband internet connection with 384 Kbps upstream

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: ATI RADEON X1600/1650–1950/HD 2000/3000 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800/7/8/9 series.

Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

The specs are pretty clear if you have these or better then you will be ok.

Dang, looks like I might as well cancel my preorder until I can buy another machine.

P4 3.2
ATI x850
No PCI express slots on MB
Non dual layer drive
= left in the dust.

I bet they're loosing half thier potential customers with those required specs.

Hi RoughRaider1,

I agree with you. I think they could gain a lot more PC customers with lower requirements. My specs are about the same as yours.

I was hoping for a minimum like COD5 - my rig can at least play that game on low settings.

Cheers - jg1234

Interesting that the specs read: XP SP3 (only) and VISTA SP1 (only) for the 'platform'. AMAZON has one of each, and also one that is just labeled "WINDOWS" for the 'platform'. The VISTA version is $60.00! And the WINDOWS version is $50.00. Is it possible that the "WINDOWS" version will work on a VISTA machine without the SP1? Anyone?

maybe ya'll should just wait and see if they release a demo.try that ,then you will know...otherwise,LOOK at the specs they release.that way we dont have to read every post that asks the same questions...thats why they release them

Yeah I have been looking forward to this game for a while now.... according to the specs my pc just won't cut it though.

P4 2.8 Ghz (478)
2 Gig Ram
Geforce 7800 GS vid card

Time to upgrade I guess..... or switch over to the darkside and attempt to play it on my son's 360.

My *** those minimum requirements. I got a great pc and still the game lags badly.

3ghz quad core
2x 8800gtx overclocked
4GB memory (windows xp 32bit, so only 3gb works)

One thing I really hate about the unreal engine is that you cant really change much to the graphical settings.

Well, what is the resolution you are playing it in,most people need to play in the most highest ridiculous resolutions,i play in 1152x864...And seeing the fact that the console version needs a patch so will the pc version. And you can change some of the graphic settings, but you can do it in your Nvidia driver settings.

IGN comment on the visuals of HH on the PC compared to the console versions.

quote:

'Unlike the console experience, which had a ridiculous grain filter that made much of the visuals look muddy and unnatural, the visuals for the PC version of Hell's Highway are vastly improved. While there are still some pixilated shadows, they're much milder than those on the console, which were extremely distracting from the gameplay. Explosions look particularly good, and there are a number of sequences, particularly within cutscenes, where screens look much like that of a photograph taken from the war. One of the downsides is that some of the gory elements, like the head shots or the limbs being blown from bodies, look a bit cartoonish and unrealistic by comparison because the details are so sharp that these events look stylized. Particle effects during explosions as well as building details and rubble as you go through villages looks quite nice, and textures of grass or other environmental elements look much better, which is to be expected with much stronger video cards available on the market. Flame still looks a bit strange in the PC version, although it looks much better, and there is still slowdown, although is reduced. The other visual gripe is that there's a lot of render pop-in that will pop up and distract you from the battlefield experience.'

the pc requirements say:
processor - 2.6ghz dual core.
does that mean 1.3 per core for a total of 2.6 or 2.6 per core?
I have 2.0 per core.
