Confused

This may have been asked already, but humour an old man with failing eyesight, loss of memory, incontinence problems & humour bypass.... Red Face

Thanks in advance, just incase I forget later.. Thumbs Up

Enjoy! Cool

Remember... It's only a game!

I don't understand what you mean by that. I have Nvidia 8600 on my laptop.

Laptop graphics cards can only do about 40% of the normal card. Size DOES matter for computers. Don't expect any new games to play on laptops. Indifferent

Hmm..well I could play cod4 and MoH:Airborne on the best graphics and I have a laptop. Both of those games are next gen so I would probably be able to play BIA-HH

This simply means that a laptop video card may or may not work and that Gearbox/BIA:HH doesn't support the use of any other cards then those that are listed.

Basically it's a use at your own risk warning and if you have problems you are on your own for a solution.

Your right Crayon, thanks for saying that. The problem is, there`s going to be hundreds out there, who will buy it for laptops, and if it won`t work, we`ll hear about it. And I will tell them the same thing, you bought it at your own risk. It makes me wonder just how many really check to see what the system requirements are before they buy games like this.

Your welcome Firefight, I have seen this same scenario all too many times and I am sure there will be a flood of consumers in here after release complaining about I have blah blah blah and the game won't run.

I am also wondering how many people that went out and bought the 4000 series ATI and the 200 series GeForce desktop graphics cards will end up here, because those cards are not in the supported list either.

This better work or I will punch my laptop lol...

Is this a common problem for BIA games or for all other high specced games?

This is becoming a problem for most high end games out there, I don't believe it is something that is biased toward only one game developer.

Most developers allocate their time and resourses getting the game to run the way it should on the most common game platforms in which laptops aren't considered to be as common as desktops, now you and others may disagree and it may be so that more people are gaming on laptops however this doesn't change the fact that developers must make these decisions.

One thing to keep in mind is that more and more developers are developing games across many platforms, they have to make decisions on what they can and cannot squeeze into the budget they have allocated for the given game, support for a limited amount of hardware could very well be one of those decisions.

This is not to state that BIA:HH won't work for you but it will be a crap shoot, maybe it will maybe it won't and if it doesn't you will be on your own to find a possible fix.

Nvidia is usually pretty good about keeping their drivers up to date for compatibility with the latest games so if you have an Nvidia card you may be ok, I wish you all the luck and hope everything goes off without a hitch.

I see we are getting more and more of these "are my specs. good enough to run this game" topics being posted without the member even trying to do a search. So, I decided to make this one a sticky.

I will start locking any new topics of this nature. Searching and scrolling is not that hard to do. Fire

By the way, thank you Crayon for finding these specs. and posting them here.

It`s not the game that is the problem, it`s the problem of the one who bought the game, for not checking to see if it meets the system requirements.

Thanks FireFight700 for making this a sticky.

In short do I have a chance to play this game on minimal settings?

PIIII 3.4ghz ( single core )( not a Pent D )
2 GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 256MB 7600 GS Video
SB Live Sound Card
160 GB Hard Drive
Windows XP SP2 ( can grab SP3 if needed )

I read the recommended requirements and realize that you can't stray too far from those. The reason I posted is because I saw a screen shot from someone in Poland which had minimal requirements more in line with my setup.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks. - jg1234
