By arcade/action sequence, i mean the parts of the games where you had to go up vs 2-3 tanks at a time, alone.

I personally was not a fan of these areas, only because they were almost impossible to beat on the Authentic difficulty level. Also, I want realism, and in my opinion, these areas are not believable.

I don't really care about difficulty, the parts of the game where you have to hold a defence with your squad against 10:1 odds are horrifyingly difficult, but they are realistic.

Perhaps if i could involve my squads a bit more instead of hiding them in a corner somewhere i would have no issue at all with this. (yes there are instances where you can do this, others i found it impossible)

Im really sorry if this has been brought up before. I dont know anything about HH, or the popular issues people had with the previous games.

Question:
were you a fan of the "arcade/action sequences" in the previous BIAs? (as described in my post)

Choices:
Yes, and look forward to them in HH
No, and hope they are not in HH

I really didn't enjoy the final mission of Road to Hill 30, No Better Spot to Die. I didn't like going up against multiple tanks with only grenades and then like 10 enemies. Besides that I like the games but hope that no moments like that are in Hell's Highway. But some of the videos showed Baker alone in a building fighting multiple Germans. I don't really want that because it would be hard to command a squad in there, but I can deal with it.

It's hard to vote a yes or no on this question because on one hand, its a game and games should always be fair to the player to their benefit. On the other hand, life isn't fair and sometimes there were cases were squads of infantry did have to fight off waves of tanks. Now of course they had anti tank weapons, but at least in HH you will have bazooka!

As for room to room fighting in hells highway, I'm going to go ahead and assume that the majority of the building to building fighting will not involve squads. its been said that 10-15% of the game, you are fighting without your squad. In the extended version of the e3 07, they should baker alone, clearing a building.

yeah heh i made this post then read the HH FAQ, and ill say that if i have teammates that can take out tanks now, thats a big sigh of relief.

House fighting was very common in WW2 so its not a real big deal to me.

I really don't recall in R2H30 anything at the hard (3rd) level of difficulty that was impossible. I'm currently playing it through in Authentic and thus far the only mission that has been the toughest is "Push Into Carentan". And the tanks are the easy part! It's the crack shot German infantry and the length of the mission without a save that makes it next to impossible, although I have read of people who have completed it, and some guy in Taiwan did it single-handedly!! And had the screen shots to prove it!!

All the missions were possible just not too fun on authentic. I beat RTH30 on authentic like ten times. It's a good challenge.

When you had to run out in the open down the road I would shoot two enemies from each squad so that instead of like 12 Germans shooting at me, there were only 4.

like i said it wasnt the difficulty that bothered me it was the fact that it just diddnt seem likely that one soldier would dance around tanks and take out 2 at a time. i forget wich game it was but it was the level with 2 tanks at the end in a huge field with hedgerows next to it.

yeah personally the hardest mission on any difficulty was buying the farm not you dieing but your tank, after a while of course i beat it since i figured out you cant use your tank till you use your infantry to kill all the anti-tank guns and people with panzerfausts which imo was more dangerous in that game lol and one thing that kind of made me mad in that mission is you only got ONE grenade i always saved it till the end and tossed it in the german tanks hatch

Earned in Blood seemed a lot harder to beat.

That's because the PS2 version had checkpoints on Authentic.

That's because it didn't have checkpoints on Authentic.

Besides, Randy, during many interviews, says that Hell's Highway is an "action" game.

Exactly. Big Grin But on Road to hill 30, I still could play authentic without dying.
