I seem to be confused about the new aiming system for grenades. It's hard to see that red dotted line, much less placing it where you want the nade to go. I waste a lot of nades needlessly trying to blow up a particular Kraut position. Has anyone figured out the best way to aim grenades?

Practice-practice-practice. there's one way to find it out, realy.

it took me some time to get used to it too! i trowed and then i wasen't sure were it went? and if you trow in the area ofthe taget teh grenade ussually kills or injure every kraut..er German in the Zone. and Young Grasshoper, i hope you have some succes with this.
Hey! I figured out that if you point your weapon crosshairs at where you want the frag to go, the grenade will go right there. It's really cool now to see those bodies fly when I toss a nade in the midst. LOL!

I found the aiming ring pretty easy to use on 360, but I can see how it would be confusing with a mouse.
My main thing with grenades is the way they're offhand (like Halo) but there's not even a throwing animation in first person, the grenade just flies out of the corner of the screen. It's been like this since BIA1 and seems like a feature they added at the last minute and never fully implemented.
IMO, off-hand grenades are for fantasy shooters. In real life you can't hold a gun in one hand and throw a grenade with the other; you have to sling your rifle, draw the grenade, pull the pin (with 2 hands), wind up, and throw. Therefore it would be better if the grenade were handled like an actual weapon; you push the weapon switch or grenade button, and you sling your rifle and pull out a grenade (you should be able to see it from 1st person mode in Baker's hands). When you push the fire button, he pulls the pin and draws his hand back to throw. He extends his left arm out for balance, and his hand acts as a sort of "iron sight" to show you where he's going to throw it. Then you let go of the fire button and he throws it.
Mapping the grenade to the weapon switch button would free up the grenade button to be used for something else which would probably be more useful. Meanwhile, you would only be able to carry one primary weapon, your (optional) pistol, and grenades, and that way your inventory wouldn't be cluttered up with stupid unrealistic second weapons you don't need.
Lastly, you should start the mission with more than 3 grenades, because in real life, soldiers carry a lot more. Also, enemies should actually throw grenades at you!!! Grenades are not nearly prominent enough in BIA combat, which puts a big hole in the authenticity.
Grenade throwing in all BiA cannot be aimed. For each brilliant feature in a BiA there is one so bad you would think a 10 year old had programmed the game.
my input? i never use nades...also not in mp unless it would be nades_only gametype...like in the good old days of cod2 and awe mod...man that was just fun running around with 999 nades and no gun or anything just to kill the rainy sunday aftenoon. or flametrower_only was even more fun and running around with 999 smoke nades. and healing your teammate would get you 999 points :-)
