hey, ever since CoD o've been a great fan of first person shooters, especially set in WW2. yes the more I played it, the more I noticed: you are like immortal, u can get sot a few 100 times in there are little green boxes with a red cross on them. I hope HH will go for some realism, and make us soldiers, not supermans.

Well, the way it works in the new installment of BIA is instead of actually getting shot you see "risk". The idea is if you're not in cover your screen gradually gets more and more red - meaning you have a greater chance of being shot. Once you take cover the risk goes away leaving you with the satisfaction of this incredible realistic game. AFAIK there are no magical med. packs or "supermen" in this game.

Seeing red when shot at I think is kind of a "superman" trait. I hate that effect, I hope there's a way to turn it off.

Agree

I really don't like that too much. That's what I call unrealistic. You wouldn't see red if you were shot at, so I too hope there's a way to set that off.

Yeah I don't like the red either. I liked the old indication system. (The white marks that indicate a bullet has wizzed past.) Anyone who has ever had a bullet go by knows that you KNOW what direction its going and I thought the white marks were a good representation of that. Not to mention, if a player can't tell the difference between being behind cover and in the open, they're not gonna have patience for squad combat anyway.

the whole concept makes it more realistic. the darkness of the red indicates more risk, and once you get shot, it's fatal. turning it off would make it still more realistic, but you would have no idea how close you are to dying. for instance, if you're the only one shooting at germans, i think that there would be a lot more risk a lot faster. no way to tell it it's off. or maybe it works on a set timer. who knows?

I noticed in the demonstration he was standing out of cover for at least 20 seconds the screen was goin red, but his health meter did not budge.

Was this because he had it on super easy or just because it was a demonstration? Otherwise those Krauts were pretty retarded. Happy

I hope i nail what your wanting..But the red simply detects danger dude, does'nt mean he was hit...now when spotches of read appear on the screen is when he's been nailed, and also in the demonstration most of the Germans were suppressed, so the shots they squeezed off were pot shots just to give them breathing room..

My point is he was standing there for ages, the red spots start to appear but if you looks at his health meter it stays the shade of dark green which suggests he was not hit at all.

Again maybe this was just for the demo? Tongue

He's talking about the little green figure in the bottom left corner, it turns darker red when you're hit, although I don't know if it's gonna keep working like that in HH or if it will just go red faster.
