I had to buy a $75 video card to be able to play the last two BIA titles. I waited for them to get around to releasing this title three and a half years late, and then I find out I have to buy a new video card again if I want to play it.

Well, as much as I want to play it, I won't be adding this title to my collection, nor any that follow it.

You guys are awesome! I hope your kickbacks from nVidia and ATI are awesome, too.

A $75.00 video card?? If you expect to play any of these moderen high tech games ( such as BIA HH ) you will need to spend LOT more than just $75.00.

I doubt that you can get a video card with 3 shaders for $75.00. You need plenty of power to play this game decent.

I tend to shop before I buy, instead of just grabbing the first item I see. Believe it or not, $75 was not cheap for an nVidia GeForce 5200 four years ago, at least for a guy that works for a living and has expenses other than video games. At that time BiA EiB was a fairly "moderen" (sic.) game, since it was released that same year.

As far as not getting a card with 3 shaders for less than $75, not only are there a multitude of cards less than $75, but I just decided to break my word and buy one to play this game.

The chipset is an nVidia GeForce NX 7600GT that features DirectX 9.0c and Shader Model 3.0 support (with 5 vertex shaders) for $44.99.

Regardless of the cost of the video cards, that wasn't even the point of my post. Thanks for your help, anyway.

Well, regardless of cost, and whether or not you feel forced into upgrading in order to play the game, the fact remains that the majority of games now are requiring a shader 3.0 card in order to display the graphics.

Even though the GeForce 7600 series of cards are not the latest design, they will still allow you to play most of the newer games, but in some, you may have to use fairly low settings for the graphics to avoid the game running too slowly.

So unless you want to use high screen resolutions and max out the graphics, that card will keep you playing for a while, but eventually, you'll reach the point where you may have to do some more upgrading.
