OK guys, 1st off a message to all of you who have managed to get BIAHH to work. 'Well done you. A big virtual pat on your back! Kindly refrain from gloating on the forums about how jolly wonderful life is and how you have smugly managed to defeat the evil coders from Gearbox/UBI.'

Now, as for the rest of us dumb *** mofo's who still have issues with this game my story takes a different twist. How do I know? Well after pouring over countless forums and following all the advice, to the letter my particular problem has not been mentioned once. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted and sacrificed copious amounts of fowl and even a small goat trying to get this sorry *** game to work. Take it from me, black magic 'aint no good with software. Although I did manage to frighten a small child with some purple smoke. (Comical aside). Back to the point. After complicity obeying all the advice from copious threads I keep returning to my special issue. When I run the game, if I have the right combination of driver releases installed, it works! Why are you dripping then I hear. It works but I can't see a damned thing! I can hear all the good stuff going on in the background, the splash screen, the music, even the narrative. But I can't see anything but a black old monitor. Not even a flicker to tempt me with the promise of half a working bell tower episode. Nada! BTW my system is a AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+ 1.80GHz running Vista Enterprise 64 and 2 GB of ram. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon X300 128MB with the driver only, not the catalyst control centre version 8.582.0.0. Just in case one of you decides to question my Physx version I have tried the chuffin' lot. After finding out the latest Physx version spits its dummy out over a missing nvcuda.dll I have reverted back to the allegedly stable physx_8.04.25 platform. I have now spent in excess of two weeks’ worth of my life, that I will never get back again, trying to get this game to work. I feel that I am in a minority within a majority. Everyone seems to be bitchin about general protection errors, but no one has mentioned my predicament. After reading the plethora of threads I most certainly don't expect a single one of you to come up with a sensible or practical solution as to how to get this £30 waste of hard earned lucre working! But if there is anyone out there bothering to read this, whom may have a nugget of information worthwhile, I would be eternally grateful in hearing from you. I liken this request to casting a personal hand written message contained in a leaky bottle, from some remote desert island, in the hope that it actually is received by the intended recipient in person.
Yours in expectant antipathy

PS. Yes I am running Vista with SP1, the latest DriectX and I have managed to successfully run COD 4 & 5 plus IGI-2 Medal of Honor Pacific Assault...alright I know its old now. Plus many other games, without issue! Just good ol' Brothers is kickin me in the butt.

That X300 is your primary problem. The X300 is a shader 2.0 card. You need a SM 3.0 card to run this game.

Furthermore, your CPU is insufficient. You need at least a 2.6 Ghz dual/quad core processor, or a 3 GHz Intel Pentium D 925.

You can fudge a little with that 2.6 GHz requirment, however. I'm running the game with an Intel Q6600 (2.4 GHz) and it runs smooth as silk.

Many thanks videogames10 for confirming my suspicions! Me thinks it may be upgrade time? Ironically, I have a XPS M1730 laptop which does let me play the game....to a certain point. I get as far as clearing the Krouts from the crashed plane and as soon as the 'cut scene' finishes, the one with the Yanks in the jeep jibing about your man’s driving capabilities...'El Crasho again'. I'll re-visit the forums and try to suss that issue out next. I have never played such a great, but buggy game as this before. It certainly presents you with more than a military challenge! Thanks again for your reply.

You're welcome.

Yeah, unfortunately it may be difficult to run this game on a laptop too. It depends on the game and the laptop.
