I just thought of this recently...How about a realistic voice comm. system?

Give the squad leader, or asst. squad leader a radio, and have them be able to use a mic to speak to other squads on the field.(seeing as there could be multiple squads online controlled by people.) This could make things a bit more challenging and realistic for each player, especially if the radios could short or malfunction, leaving you without communications in a tight tactical spot.(Common place with ww2 handheld radios)

Just a thought.

Well in my honest opinion i think its a great idea. Not only in theory does it seem to work but i also have the feeling it would work in actual gameplay, on a certain condition though. The server would in all probability have to be a controlled server such as a tactical realism unit server or a regular server with well maintained rules. Problems do arise when this kind of communication is taken to your typical public server. In most cases there is no hint of discipline mostly because people just dont care and want to relax and simply shoot some germans, now ordinarily id say "then go play some call of duty or medal of honor" but thats impossible because we all already know this is meant for the 'run and gun' type of gamer as well as the tactical realism fans. So the problem is on a typical server, no one pays attention to orders or anyone talking on mic for that matter.

One way i could see this working quite well is if there were 2 different settings for voice communication. Open channel(typical run and gun type matches with no order in them) and a realistic voice communication channel setting, obviously being a setting which is controlled by the server admins.

I like your idea M1, i would be the first on the train for that kind of communication.
