I'm sorry that my first post has to be about a problem but the game is so amazing i just need to finish it.

OK, here goes.

I have a weird problem in the Black Friday mission. Sometimes my screen turns smudgy, textures overlapping, or a blank screen. But the graphical glitches are bearable - I also lose all letters and numbers - so no ammo indicator, no objectives, no names, nothing - so you can see how frustrating it can be when I don't know the objectives or anything.
I've had no problems, even restarted some older chapters but no problems, this only happens in black friday.

I have the newest ATI drivers on a WINXP SP2, q6600, 2gb of ram, hd 4870, asus pQe

Please help!

Ah yes, I had the same problem.

I did the following:
- ingame turn down your resolution, like 1024x768
- continue your game, the graphic errors should be gone
- now return to your original resolution

Hope that helps, worked for me.

I don't know if another savegame helps, I had the feeling that these errors were staying.

Black friday started crashing on me, so a little texture glitch here and there shouldn't be a problem, as long as I can play.

Anyway, what do the developers say about this problem?

Because before Black Friday the game ran smoothly and was extremely stable.

Hello there,

inspite it is a great game, I experience the same crash in Black Friday.

-When I turn the camera, carwrecks and walls turn also
-No text on screen, also not in the menus
-I managed to get to the next chapter, with the Firefly. But from then even the movies go beserk.
-From chapter 1, grass gets very long and jumps through the screen (like an alien bug


I use the latest Ati drivers,

#2 GB Ram
#Win XP Prof, SP 3, latest DirectX drivers

Hope Ubi will solve it quick, looks like Ati problem :s?

hi guys i love the game but when i get to black friday chapter it keeps rebooting my pc also i've tried the different resolutions and turning down the graphics went through all that yesterday.

my system:
E6850
HD4850
4GB ram
maximus formula 2 motherboard
500GB HDD
XP pro SP3


the problem is that ubi missed something when they developed the game for ati cards

So it seems, we all have Ati HD-cards, so I guess we'll just have to wait for a patch.

Hmh, after Black Friday some textures go berserk.

OK, here's the deal. Everything went fine before this mission. It crashed etc. so I continued playing with FallBack's profile.

Now this happens, in all missions, and also when I switch back to my old profile - the grass is not there, just streaks which change size, direction and orienteation when I move my character around.

Anyone has these symptoms? Reading the posts in this topic it seems that Radeon users have certain problems with this game.

I'll use Fallbacks profile to bypass Black Friday and I'll see if I have the same problem.

Ah! Lovely The text etc. went missing from the following mission too (atleast in the cutscenes), so let's wait for the fix

I have the same problem... the game was running fine until blsck friday level, now i cant finish the game.

well lads i've the same problem .... weird fps drops no text in menus or in game but after restart and running fraps in bacground it works fine oO the only issue is that there are some major fps drops ie from almost 90 to 25 oO

edit: nah it didnt work after some time screen just went black literraly black only what ive seen were supression icons nothig more

Why would anyone have an ATI card?

Nvidia has an agreement with intel and microsoft has an agreement with intel and the operating sYstem is owned by microsoft and Pc games are for windows so it makes sence that most people that have an ATI card will have problems.

ATI has an agreement with AMD and AMD has an agreement with ATI.


In all the gaming forums i have visted ATI has the worst reputation for not supporting games even when the box says it does.


Just my observations

Well wedgie I have 2x HD3870 since December last year and have played all the top games (Crysis, Crysis warhead, COD4, Assassins Creed and the list go's on with out 1 ounce of problems. Maby I have been lucky lol.

Well, one could look at it in the business-conspiracy theorist way. the game advertises Nvidia from the start saying how it`s `meant to be played.`

Now perhaps Nvidia has cooked up a little secret `agreement` with gearbox to place a `bug` in a certain part of the game. Namely Black friday (since it uses the extensive rain effects). This would showcase Nvidia and how it works `perfect` unlike ATI.

Ergo Nvidia gets its product advertised even more and Gearbox gets its royalties/whatever.

A Patch will later `fix` it, but the point is, it makes Nvidia look better and worth purchasing over ATI.

Just seems strange how such a big problem was never found during testing. Seems a tad big to overlook.

By the way I have an Nvidia card and no probs, and have never had ATI.

But it`s just a thought, which probaly isn`t so, but you`d be surprised what some partnership companies get up to.
