ok i know the sand textureis there ive used it b4 cant find it atm sorry about that.
But the sea texture not a prob. Go to the terrain editor tab, click on the environment button under the shaders scetion of the drop down menu, higlight the water section under shaders by clicking on it, then click on the button that pops up then select a shader u wan. Ive found a couple to not work properly and sometimes crash sandbox so save before u play around with the shaders.
Thanks Ice for asking that ?..I was wondering where that mat_sanddry was too..Its not in my drop down list either?.......I've been using mat_default or whatever the heck it's called
If you had used the "Find" function to look for mat_sanddry, you would have found this. It's also in the FAQ that was just released.
quote:I'm sorry, but getting these materials into the list isn't a simple process. The only way I know is to select a brush, such as the GLM brushes, and this will automatically place any materials used in that brush into the Surface Types Settings list of Material Names. For example, if you double click the wooden3 type bridge brush, in the Bridge folder of the Outdoor brush directory, you will get the mat_wood_heavy and mat_wood_thin materials added to the list. If I find a better way, I will let you know, otherwise you will have to wait until there is a patch.
you could also try downloading the .stf and .lay files from my website, I put together a little pack of SufaceMaterials and Layers 'exports' from some of the official singleplayer levels...
just download em, import em into sandbox and voila... mat_sand (and many others) will be available for you to use
@ Mickieluv... Do you have a link to those nice layer files, please? I tried a site search and got... "Your search - .lay site:www.madewithpixels.co.uk - did not match any documents"

"How difficult" depends upon intelligence & "what can it do" depends upon imagination...
If you know lua's &/or c++, SB can do pretty much anything you want... If you don't... you can create large gaming environments, including any custom objects/characters/textures you desire! Basically "what can you do?"
