I'm not sure if it's this thread that I should ask this,
but in the walkthrough, placing the guys, grouped with the jeeps, to follow the circle around the island, I managed to get them to hop into their jeeps and driving, but for both jeeps, the tires spin and the steering works, but they just aren't able to move, like their tied into their grouping box, maybe. What's going on, here? Thanks!! BTW, this is prolly the best manual I've ever seen!! |

It may depend, as I sort of expected, on how you group your groups Whether or not I changed my group id number, they behaved correctly, but couldn't drive out of that "Group 1" or "Group 2" box. When checking, over and over again, the parameters I put into each entity, I had to use 'Group>Open' in order to select and manipulate any individual out of the group, then close them up again using the same menu. After finding that these values were all correct, for the hell of it, I UNgrouped them, then triggered them, and away they went! So if anyone else has this problem, while following the walkthrough, you can only group them in the parameter field to the right of the work window by giving them the same group number. You cannot do so by using the 'Group' button in the top area of the editor. This might be an editor bug, not sure. Good luck!! |

Having not put much time into Sandbox yet, I may be totally off here, but I've always understood the menu 'Group' option to be similar to that of CAD programs - you select one, you select all of them together. Any operations you do affect all of them equally.
Whereas setting a vehicle and soldier group's ID to be the same, seemed to me to be saying that you're tying them together in an AI sense, but not in a physically-binding sense. And that's why the menu 'Group' option screws up their behavior. |

i just got it printed out, and man, i didnt think 179 pages was a lot, until i saw the stack of paper the printer spit out, man its like 3 cm thick, lol.
will be easier to do stuff now, for some reason stuff is easyer when u read it on paper. |

I have a possible error in the manual for you:
In Appendix A, in the Vegetation Object Parameters table, there is no entry explaining the parameter RealTimeShadow. I'm not sure what the difference is between this and CastShadow. |

There is a list of amendments detailed on the very last page of the manual. If you have already printed out the manual, you should be able to just reprint the altered pages, and slip them into your original. At least I hope it will be that easy

Alright, im having a few problems with farcry, but i lov eit so far.
1. In the game, all the graphics but the ground (only dirt, grass no metal) is black, i can see trees and what not just fine. idk what to do for this. 2.the game is awsome for about 2 minutes, then it gets extremely laggy. this happens especially when i enter a vechile. i time it and it took (when it was laggy) about 2 min. for me to walk foward a bit, then about another min later, just smooth as can be. 3. im having some diffuculty with the editor, i can make some land, but when i generate surface texture, it stays red, ive had the game for about 1-2 days, so im a noob at this. Im not sure what i have to do next. Occasionally, after it finishes generating, it will give a big list of errors, saying something like the render was too big for the window i think. and it said this would be fixed in further releases. 4. The 180 page sandbox manual that pirana posted, the link when i tried did not work. is there another site i could go to douwnload this? i really think i need this. any help would really be awsome. please someone help me!!! thx, Algae |

Thanks, helped alot, switched out my vid card with my dads, and works like a charm, even graphics in editor. only one last thing i can think of... when im in the editor, ill place a jeep, then when i play it, or get closer the area under the jeep turns black, a big black square. if you dont know, no biggy. thanks already tho.

Hey, I've tried workign a bit with the chainswing1 and have had it attack to an object, like a rock head. But I how do you attack the chain to anther object so it hangs the suspended object? I.E. suspend a box or crate from a crane. i know you enter the object's name into the ab AttachTo but do you also use the ab AttachToUp? ive tried it before and didnt work. thanks,
