Before I research how to make my own custom skin playable in Far Cry multiplayer, what software should one use to create the skin?

I am assuming popular art packages like Photoshop can be used to create the images and save in a format recognisable by Far Cry?

I did some further research and understand I can use the DDS plugin for Photoshop to make my skins.

Another question - if I create or modify a skin, will it be straight away visible to other online players in FFA as I have designed it, or would they first need my new skin file to install on their own computer to make it appear?

they would need to put the script in their folder if they want to use3 it but they should be able to see it.
there are whiners out there who will tell you to lose it.
